I’d argue Illidan is still alright.
At least a lot more than the others.
But yeah, the rest of your list remains in the butcher department
I mean, Shadowlands just about did that to the entire lore & franchise so … Not too surprising. lol

Ysera: Your husband must take my place in the realm of death if I am to help you.
happens, Ysera does nothing
Ysera: My job here is done. Bye.
For real!! We ‘sacrifice’ Malfurian to get her back, then as soon as we do shes like “Oh yea, no I cant help.” Like wtf did we bring you back for??
Malfurion’s entire WoW arc has been:
Feels bad, man. Even when night elves get some love, it always has to have some backhanded little price they have to pay.
fridging malfurion in the lore is a time tested tradition, he’s just a sleepy guy
I have to admit I was a little surprised he didn’t get a cameo at the climax of that cutscene.
Well, I suppose he and Tyrande probably want to have their reunion in private.
( This isn’t BG3 )
So did Elune revoke Ysera’s constellation, or does she still get to keep that and also install a revolving door on the afterlife?
Better come back to life. Your grown adult daughter who has a grown adult son may need coaching for her new job.
You seen Deathwing and Malygos while you were down there? We got two more newbies to train up. Jaina and Thrall! Pack a sleeping bag and a toothbrush! More aspects need on the job training!
cursed.
Why do people keep talking like Worthlessfurion is dead? The quests made it clear that he was taking Ysera’s place temporarily to keep the bargain with the Winter Queen so Ysera could do emerald dream things.
I 100% agree with the sentiment that Ysera did not seemingly make good use of this “trade” but I think part of that at least makes sense since she is fundamentally changed and it serves as further motivation for Meritha to come out of her shell and take on the role she was meant to have anyway. Plus why assume the trade would’ve been instant anyway? Like the Shadowlands is supposedly not paying attention to the mortal worlds except that which is needed to perform their purpose/function. I highly doubt the Winter Queen is sitting there watching intently with her finger on the trigger button to send Dumbfurion back the second Ysera decides to return back to Ardenweald.
Like I find soooooooooo much more wrong with DF and the lore as a whole that caring that the stupid overrated elf twin is gone from the narrative now (both the Stormrage brothers can stay gone as far as I care. Both of them are textbook definitions of overrated).
Tyrande…! My love…!
Whatever Mal might’ve accomplished in his career he will forever be remembered as a whiny child crying ‘TYRANDA WHERE ARE YOU’ even though that wasn’t him but Xavius. I just can’t stop thinking of that any time I hear his voice now. How to get your career ruined by a bad guy. Poor Mal.
Doesn’t help when this supposed demi god who can literally shake continents is completely bodied by a Satyr who wasn’t even physically in the realm. Like dude was literally trapped in roots…as a druid…with shapeshifting…which breaks roots…and he was conscious.
Same. I was disappointed.
“Thanks for the trade, SUCKER”
would u guys snu snu malf
what theyre trying to do is kill off malfurion for good bc NO ONE cares about him. like no one, period. he is either asleep or sleeping. illidan is the better brother and he don’t even deserve trynade, he’s beyond her at this point, she’s terrible too.
if we’re gonna have a cool nelf around bring him back.
tldr story is terrible and it is no surprise.
This is mostly true (aside from the very obvious Stormrage hate thing you got going on) and mainly speaks to the often brought up terrible pacing of Dragonflight.
Like you wouldn’t actually know why Ysera was back and why she really couldn’t do much unless you did the Maruuk Renown track to start the Green Dragon questline. Which means, by the time most players see Ysera, she’s just around to only give Merithra a pep talk or two when she feeling inadequate.
That night elf scowl is clearly a lack of a much needed 10,000 year nap. It takes 5,000 years just to reach REM.
His lack of sleep was so intense that all those caught within the singularity couldn’t escape, not light, not squirrels, not even GMs.
