I got exalted with thorium brotherhood to gain access to nightfall 2h axe and he doesn’t have the recipe. The item was updated for sod from the original “Nightfall” to “Reaving Nightfall” with no stat or damage changes. My assumption is that it is supposed to be available because if we don’t have access to it until BWL there is no use in actually using it cause the dps is so low. It would make sense for us to have access now for mc. Please add this in so people can actually use it.

both Nightfall and the sunder axe were cut because it “Reduces players to buff bots” which is strange because they kept the blackblade from UBRS which turns the bearer into a raid buff bot anyway.

I get that, but it’s un-ironically an upgrade as of now.

I’ve been reaching out to try and get this back in the game for a while now.

The straight removal of this was the wrong way to go. Literally not telling the community ahead of time made it even worse for those who grinded the rep.

No one is forced to use world buffs, yet guilds still do it religiously of speed running/optimization matters to them, no one forces players to have all applicable flasks/food/consumes and yet players and entire guilds do this because they decided that’s what matters to them. Imagine taking out any endgame aspects of alchemy, leatherworking, tailoring, enchanting, etc that required a rep grind and devs NOT announcing it at all for the same reasons as Nightfall.

If you’re in one of those speedrunning/hardcore guilds and you’re not necessarily enjoying farming for your flasks/consumes or world buffs, well then Bliz should just take those things out of the game with this kind of logic. I can’t imagine someone being in a HC guild for very long if they complained about having to do that sort of sacrifice.

I agree.

Instead of outright removal, I think this should have received a buff to keep damage roughly on par with other 2H Axes, perhaps with an increased proc chance for the effect. And then publicly announced to be adjusted in Phase 5 to have the proc chance replaced by other useful stats. I would not mind carrying around a Nightfall axe, especially on a “Spellhance” Shaman, but I do agree that I would not want to be killing Nefarian with it while everyone else is getting large upgrades. I do not chase parses other than to compare myself to myself, or to others if I am doing relatively poorly for a reason I cannot identify, however that would become difficult to do if my parse is handicapped by using a Molten-Core Support weapon.

I understand why they did this and agree with their reasoning, but I think this could have been handled more eloquently. This season is a first for many things for my Enhancement Shaman.
I’ve checked the box on Dungeon Tier questline completion, Making the Black Dragonscale Set, crafting Arcanite Reaper and obliterating a mage on the first Stormstrike with Windfury proc crits with it, crafting items at the Black Forge, etc.
I would have liked to have been able to add Nightfall to that list of firsts.

It’s becoming increasingly clear they have run out of either design space or time, or labor, or all three. So much unfinished and unpolished aspects here. And I would find it hard to blame the devs, I am sure they are just as uhappy.

I blame the top level, because they are the ones that set the investments and dictate the stiaution. Corporate Blizzard is strangling SoD. So much wasted potential for maximizing profits. Woo…

Here’s the thing with this logic from the devs on this…

sarcasm They better remove the Black Qiraji Battle Tank mount, Scarab Lord title, and the opening of AQ world event. Would hate to “force” an ENTIRE server into feeling “locked” into a more supporting role donating their time/resources into gathering for the war effort, killing endless bugs just so a few people could benefit. I bet no one ever looks forward to that event. sarcasm

  1. What does that have anything to do with my comment?

  2. Even following their logic, your comment is wrong anyway.

Wasn’t replying to you, just the overall situation. May have clicked the wrong reply button, apologies for any confusion!

Plus it was sarcasm, it was meant to be wrong, that’s why I noted it as such.

Ok, I apologize then and understand. It was under my comment for the reply, but these forums leave a lot to be desired… carry on.
