I know there’s some DDOSing going on with Classic, but this has affected Retail as well? Idk.

I’m having issues logging in as well. Can’t get past the load screen after choosing a character to login with.

I’m having problems too. DC’d during old AV and now can’t get back in. At first, login servers worked, but couldn’t get past loading screen for any toons. Now, login servers aren’t working either.

I think the DDOS on Classic has spread to Retail.

This happened to me too. I can’t get past the log in screen.
Would be nice if Blizzard put out a tweet or something about it.
Yeah, I know Phase 2 just came out for Classic and now it’s going to draw attention to the nerds who use bot nets to DDOS.
All that crap just to stop players from playing. <3
The game was fine this morning, about 9 hours ago, basically up until just about 30 minutes ago or so.
Oh well, anything the spergs will do to I suppose ruin Asmongold’s stream.
Not really reaching with that, because the same stuff happened before.

I’m reaching my character screen, but it’s all blacked out. Same experience as the last big DDOS.
Well, justice can’t be more effective than peoples awareness of it. Some follow up blue posts might have been worth while.
Especially since it appears Blizzard hasn’t adequately hardened infrastructure like other online business.
Edit: Just got into classic no problem. Might be retail only internal screw up.

Most vulnerable point is the authentication server but that wouldn’t affect the players already logged in.
They could be overloading the login server causing it to crash. From my understanding both classic and retail share the same login/authentication servers. (That’s why we can use the same login info for both) So something affecting one will affect the other.
Considering Classic and Retail use the exact same login servers and game server architecture, anything that affects one can affect the other.
Especially a DDOS. Which works by overloading routers with so much traffic that they can’t function properly.

I was online when I got disconnected, which now has prevented me from getting back in. I was inside Black Temple when I got disconnect. It’s cool, I can’t do nothing but wait for Blizzard to fix the issue.
