Heard that the game version is not yet approved by Chinese Government. But why does that affect the client in the US? What’s really stopping us to experience full expansion including the login page? I’ve been playing shadowland for a while and it’s just so surprising that Blizzard still don’t want to address this for ppl who play this game in Chinese. This really makes feel that Blizzard doesn’t really care how Chinese player feel about it.
Due to the recent contract changes with the Chinese company that used to run the game in China, I don’t believe Dragon Flight is licensed for use in China.
There is no company to run the game in China after the end of this month.
I wouldn’t expect any change to the situation until a new Chinese company runs the game for Blizzard in China.
Per a press release WoWhead had found and posted on their website, the license termination won’t impact the remaining 2022 releases including Dragonflight.
…Now what happens in late January 2023 when the deal expires is another question.
Are you playing on the Chinese client, on a China-based realm? I’m assuming so, since Simplified Chinese isn’t a language option on the Americas client.
Isn’t this one Simplified Chinese?
Where do see that? Clicking the Menu button on the character select screen, then System, then the Languages options, the choices are English, Spanish or Portuguese.
Edit - Found it in the Battle.net app settings menu. Will take a look after my client update completes.
On the battle net launcher. Options > Game Settings.
You have to set it up there before it shows on the Game itself. Once you do it, it downloads all the language packages.
