Lock/Hunter ect.. SO MANY KEYBINDS!

Anyone else that pvp’s remember there being this many keybinds for arena?

Yikes Locks and hunters specifically. I remember there being a lot but this is outta control.

Try Shaman. There’s a lot.

I forgot about sham lol I can’t imagine.

Rogue has the least amount of key binds surprisingly.

Yeah it always makes me giggle when a raider complains about spamming one button, like shadow bolt, but a pvp lock needs like 40-60 keybinds.

I have about 50 binds on this warrior. I could probably consolidate some abilities into a single button with some macros but, eh.

MoP was worse.

I don’t think there’s built in arena frames so you can’t macro target enemy players, and for friendly players you can just put [target=“name”]

But there will be a lot for Warlock for instance.
Set focus target
Soul Link (It’s a buff that needs to be cast, not automatic)
You need dedicated Felhunter dispel buttons for each person in your team.
You also need to have it available for an offensive dispel
You need all the pet control buttons accessible. Attack, Follow, Stay, Passive
Spell Lock target and focus target.
Death coil/fear target and focus target
Curse of Tongues/Weakness/Shadow target and focus target
Fel Domination+Summon pet macros. Voidwalker, Succubus, and Felhunter
Hard summon pet spells
Healthstone
Fel Armor
Shadow Ward
Drain life/soul
Drain mana target/focus target
Banish (druid tree form, warlock pets, water elemental)
Rank 1 Rain of Fire for rogue scouting or keeping healers around corners in combat
Rank 1 Corruption or Curse of Tongues to run dispel happy healers oom
And of course your core damage abilities.

No, because a lot of the macros people are using the fluff up their keybind usage didn’t become commonplace until significantly later. In TBC half of the arena community didn’t use focus macros or know they ever existed because despite putting in /focus from 2.0, it didn’t have a frame associated with it so nobody knew what it did until Arena Junkies eventually figured it out then you got an addon to add a frame to it which later became baseline.

Also it depends on how much you want to add, a lot of rogue keybindings are dialed back from retail here because combo points aren’t persistent, so step kidneying an off target isn’t really a thing which takes 1-5 binds away right there. Warlocks on the other hand can have a lot of keybinds if they have arena 1-5 macros for every individual dot but at that point just a target macro would work better. At most it’s using your lesser used curses on specific targets like Tongues or Recklessness (if you’re playing with a melee and going for a hard kill).

When it comes to actually utilizing your toolkit and how many abilities you will use in PvP of all of them just on a target, rogues probably use the most since every finisher has a use somewhere. SnD was considered garbage in arena during TBC but in TBC it’s actually one of the most important ones to have rolling whenever you’re going for a kill. Expose Armor is pretty important in setting up a kill. Rupture has its uses, deadly throw is very important. About the only ability a rogue will NEVER use in PvP is Feint for TBC, doesn’t gain its reduction to AOE damage component until Wrath.

From when I was leveling, I remember shaman being nuts on the keybinds… shift, ctrl, even some alt keys in there. Enh drops it a bit tho.

ive been testing on beta and so far rogue is BY far the least amount of keybinds when setting up focus binds and everything needed.

Sham
lock
hunter even though hunter is garbo in arena and wont be all that noticed
Even discp priest if played correctly at a high level has a ton of binds.
R druid gets pretty bloated as well in 3s

I haven’t set up a warrior yet but it looks like it could get pretty deep as well

Ugh

And I’m boosting a lock lol

Yup. I don’t think anything will match me playing a holy Paladin in wotlk before I swapped to mouse overs.
