Why in the actual would blizzard think locking the server change service be a good idea before pre patch. Like people will be going to new servers, playing with old friends. All things I planned to do and was more then willing to shove out $32 CAD per Character. But now I am left on a terrible server, and the friends I planned to play pre patch/TBC with are on a different one. No one will even play the Old Classic version so Snap shots are utterly useless. At least give us the option to opt out of it.
Or better yet, act like a company should and give us EXACT DATES and maybe just a little warning before doing something so drastic. Like you say “a few weeks” meaning what? 3-4 so a full month? or longer? Forcing your customers out of a paid service for what again?
Where? Not on Launcher, Not on Character screen?? Sorry for not following EVERY bit of warcraft news. But a random lock down of server transfers with no actual date of them becoming available seems like a major step in the wrong direction. Or maybe they could of put a banner on the shop when I looked at the costs etc saying “This service is on a limited time” Anything at all.
Which I think is utterly pathetic for a “Triple A” company. I have a ticket in and will post if I get exact dates but as for myself and the few others I planned to play with. It’s already over before it started. Thank Blizz, Hate you very much.
Yes let me check this daily to see if something game breaking will be implemented and impact myself and the people I plan to play with. Come on Couchy, use some critical thinking skills. Only trolls, white knights and annoyed customers use the forums unironically. I mean even this post for flagged for a simple use of $%$%#^#$%$#%$. Goes to show the kind of creatures that lurk here.
Nobody has mentioned why it was done. They are creating the snapshots of character data so that they can be moved to “Classic Era” servers if people decide on that option…
It was explained in the blue post that the people in this thread did not read… Enjoy.
Yeah the post with no official dates of when it will return. Obviously I and others read it. We just disagree with the time frame and the inability to opt out of it. I myself have no interest in doing 40 man raids with corrupted LC’s and world buffing for hours just to wipe on trash.
I was about to reply to this but then I realized it was Mistra and I had already replied to one of his “I’m mad at Blizzard because they didn’t put information right in front of my nosse” comments.
Yeah them not making it public aside from a forum post and a weeks notice. Sorry I don’t put 40h a week into the game like the rest of you goons. It’s one thing to be ignorant but imagine thinking the customer is at fault for trying to spend money. I am sure you guys do real swell outside of the game.
PS: Them saying several weeks means nothing for a time frame, could be 2 weeks could be 6. Locked from playing with friends for what? So some low life can feel like he’s accomplished something after finally getting every item in classic. You guys are pathetic.
Blizzard needs time to test and ensure that character data is properly cloned from an exact time stamp for all characters. Even if you don’t clone your character, it could impact someone who does.
I have GOOD NEWS for you. The TBC pre-patch IS NOT HERE. You can still play the TBC pre-patch because it will not release until transfers open.
We had an exact date for when transfers would close. If they gave a date for when they opened, would you even check to see it? The other side is open-ended because they have to do their own testing to ensure it works properly.
