A couple nights ago while I was playing, my internet shut off for a second and I was disconnected from WoW. When I tried to log back in, a message came up saying that my account had been locked due to suspicious activity and the error code #51900314. I checked the security tab on my account and there was absolutely no suspicious activity, only my logins to the account. I’ve changed my password multiple times with no luck, tried to set up an authenticator to perhaps bypass the problem, but that did not work. I submitted a ticket a couple days ago about the problem, but frankly waiting for possibly 10 days for a ticket response seems ridiculous when I’m positive that there’s nothing wrong with the account, and I’m essentially throwing away money in unused game time. If possible, a solution to this problem and a way to prevent this from happening again would be great.
Do you use a VPN and maybe forgot to engage it before logging in, or the VPN location changed?
Ticket times for the NA region are hovering around the 3 day mark, is this an EU account?
No VPN. I began this account in the US, so I believe so? I’m currently playing from Sweden so I sent in a ticket through eu.battle.net
Alternatively, that specific error code is usually flagged when invalid credentials were used to log in. Did you get an email with the action?
Have you tried changing your account password to see if it might bypass the lock?
This is odd, I see your PW resets, and that should remove this lock, this was just a security lock. I do see your ticket. I’d still highly recommend adding that authenticator, once you can.
You might try one more PW reset, normally that removes this type of lock.
I’ve received emails about the account but with no actual link to alter anything. It just says “help us keep your account safe with a security check”, and explaining that there was a recent login attempt with my account, AKA me trying to access the account. I’ve changed my password 3 times now, no luck with that. As far as I can tell, the only way that I can get my account unlocked is with the assistance of a customer service rep.
Okay, I’ll reset my password again. I downloaded an authenticator for the phone, but it wouldn’t let me log in with my correct credentials. I’m positive my password was correct, because I changed it and then tried again, but when I press the button to log in it basically does nothing, and after several presses, it blanks out the password bar and tells me I have an incorrect password.
I just changed my password again, did not fix the problem
EDIT: okay, I’m not really sure what can be done on my end at this point. I received an email from blizzard with a password reset link, so I set another new password for the account. No luck, same error as before, the suspicious activity warning with a #51900314 code.
Try logging in with that last PW now, Ox - and try to add that authenticator
I suspect that part of the issue here may be your registered address vs. your real location.
new password change didn’t work, same problem as before. I was thinking the same thing, about the address. I’ll add my current resident address to the account and see if it works.
EDIT: Will there be any hang ups with changing my country on my account to sweden? I play on US servers and I will be moving back to the states in about a month, so I don’t want to encounter this issue again when I move back.
Just try to log in with the latest pw
same error message as before, new password didn’t fix it
I’m thinking you’re on to something with the country of residence issue, changing the password doesn’t seem to have any effect on the problem, and the authenticator is having the same issue as before, where it won’t let me log in with my correct credentials.
Let’s try this one more time, just try to log in normally, with your latest pw
no luck, it didn’t work
Hang in there, Oxbaren. I’m having someone with a lot more experience than I have with this sort of thing have a look. This is just very odd.
great, I really appreciate the help. thank you
Ok, take 546 - check your email, and give it another go.
It worked! thank you so much for the help!
No problem, sorry for the hassle. Please do add that authenticator just as soon as possible.
