Ah this is true, I forgot that Lor’themar isn’t technically king even though at this point he defiantly should be.

Yes. Given that Void Elves were never supposed to exist in the first place, they really should have given them just the Silver Covenant High Elves. Every discussion so is a reaction because of Ion Hazzikostas confirmed “stubborn traditionalism” which caused this half-decade discussion without any breaks.

Well it started as two things: A mere suggestion on how to make it fair for Horde that void elves keep copying our stuff and two to bring awareness to the neglected Nightborne. However 200 almost posts in i tried making one and realized that a lot of allied races got tons of new customizations. So now its just more of a suggestion thread of debate than anything else even though people still wish to troll, insult and harass

He refuses for the same reason that Kael refused to be King. It was to honor Anasterian who died by Arthas’ blade and to never forget what happened when Arthas tore through Silvermoon, and all the blood shed.

Outside of kael’s sister / daughter who ever we killed for the fire mages legion artifact there is no one left to claim the title of king. So I wonder when Blizz will expand on Lore how leadership for Blood elves will be outisde of a regeant lord that Lor’themar really doesn’t want but makes a perfect leader.

They’ll likely keep him with the title he’s most comfortable with, because the Belves whole thing is not to forget what happened. It was the whole reason for the renaming of Helves to Belves.

Don’t you dare remove Belf girls! All of them are my eternal hot waifu’s forever. :heartpulse:

Hopefully he’ll be the permanent blood elf leader by the time Blizz gives up on the game. Cause kinda of scared at this point there is no original horde leaders left that didn’t get killed and replaced in world of warcraft.

That is why I’d never want him to become Warchief.

LMAO blood elves and void elves are the most popular race and plus I doubt everyone on here can even deny on the blood elves music tracks it’s super amazing and calming. But please obviously blood elves haters would bash this comment so come at me!

Well too bad. You don’t always get everything you want in life. Besides that wouldn’t be the end of it and we both know that very, very well. Next it’d be something about racials, or spells, or just the fact that female High Elves don’t have an innate seduce ability for Male Human Paladins or something.

Void Elves are here, implemented in the game already; and they shouldn’t be deleted because of caustic players. You don’t like it? Fine, but that’s what you were given. Take it or leave it.

I’m all for embellishing on the lore, and making accommodations when and where they make sense; but dropping what the Devs have made and reversing course because of spiteful or hyper entitled players? No way. The Developers have an absolute right to full creative license on their product.

So with all due respect mate, know your place. You are the consumer. Consume the product or don’t. The Developers develop. Don’t like it, you can play another game.

The ultimate problem here is players trying to write the story for the Developers and whining when it isn’t exactly what their fanfic dictated it should be. No different that the people who rant and scream for Wranduin. Go play another game if you don’t like WoW’s story IMHO.

I need a fanfic of my character and alexstraza… in the game… and only I can experience… holds his alexstraza waifu pillow (i dont actually have one)

Who wrote about deleting them? I don’t think you’re in the position to call anyone a harsh critic. If we reduce the whole situation to a pragmatic level, then it would go as it follows:

Blizzard releases an alternative race version for the other faction which ensued a backlash situation for half a decade because the paying customers’ feedback is for the most part negative without any sight of an improvement. Due the constant discussion generated on the official message boards and the outside communities, observed by the community managers and the developers themselves, it was later on decided to act upon the given feedback and give this race additional options which brings the playable race closer to the desired wish of its players.

And from where we go here? Sooner or later they will get either a High Elf race or additional customization options (title, voices, removed effects). This is how things go with such topics which never stop popping up.

I’m not truly affected by the discussion here but the signs are everywhere that the Alliance will get their High Elves over the years to come.

“Whining” is a very subjective observation and can mirrored instantly by pointing out that you’re “whining” as well - which is not very productive discussion culture.

I have nothing add to this discussion with you, to be frank. As long as these topics will come back, the Alliance will get their requests sooner or later.

But not under the auspices of World of Warcraft’s definition of “race” which is predicated on whether they have different abilities or not.

Dark Iron are the same biological race as other dwarves, but their culture gets a blessing from the plane of fire instead of Stoneform, making them a different “race.”

High Elves didn’t learn Arcane Torrent (or Mana Tap) because it’s a watered down Demon Hunter technique taught to Kael and Rommath by Illidan after the Blood Elves had already split from Garithos and joined the Illidari. High Elves would have to have a different signature ability, making them a different “race.”

Dark Iron Dwarves are a different race of sorts, since the beginning of their lore. They were from generations of genetic variances that deviated from the ones you typically see in majority throughout Ironforge. That’s nothing like High Elves and Blood Elves. High Elves & Blood Elves look exactly the same, and would have almost identical cultures aside from the faction selection & decisions made after the explosion of the Sunwell with how to sate their addiction.

Blood Elves only chose to sake their name out of the blood that was spilt by Arthas, to honour the fallen. That’s it. Their namesake has nothing to do with Arcane Torrent, the Fel or even the Illidari.

Kael’Thas & Rommath taught their people to sate their addiction with arcane torrent - and as we know, a handful disagreed but they still share the same culture, they simply had disagreements on how things were handled & moving forward. High Elves & Blood Elves don’t have generations of lineage that deviates, or any major cosmic change to them whatsoever to eachother.

As for the Arcane Addiction argument I’m sure will come up, or the emerald hue of their eyes – Both suffered from arcane addiction, and in Outland at an Alliance zone there’s even an NPC with the fel-green-eyes who identifies as a High Elf who had their state changed due to the fel-energies that perpetuated around them on their journey. As for the emerald hue throughout the Elves whom remained within Quel’Thalas, that was via the small pockets of radiation from the fel-crystals which as only a mild change but not permanent unless generations of it being applied were to pass.

What if…Kael’thas gives Lor’themar his blessing and grants him the title when they meet in the Shadowlands?

Lor’themar still might not take it. And I’m not sure Kael would grant it based on it being to honor his father. And Lor’themar not needing the title to be leader of the Blood Elves.

I agree he doesn’t need the title to lead BEs but I would like to see him take the title it just feels… right idk

But I also dislike the idea Kael has to give his approval for him to make the move… like if he did become King I think it should be Rommath or another current BE leader who convinces him based on his own merit and the fact he already leads BEs that sorta thing, idk if that makes sense but thats my pov / hope

It’s something that I’m understanding of because it was all bloodline. And it very well seems like Kael feels the monarchy died with his father. And that Helves needed a change after what happened. Something that honors the fallen. And it’s not completely his choice. Lor’themar has been very vocal about not wanting to ever be a King. He just doesn’t see himself that way.

And I like that Belves never forget what happened and never stop honoring their fallen.
