You’re right, I think. At the end of the proverbial day, I can see both spells functioning as you mention
Make enhancement a tanking spec.
Doesn’t appear to work on my Night Elf Demon Hunter.
Don’t forget, that Blood Elves and Void Elves can communicate cross-faction, through the Thalassian language. And, if I’m right about it, ALL Mages, who learn the spell Arcane Linguist, will also learn all of their faction’s racial languages, so even Mages can communicate cross-faction.
Will there be additional customization options for standard races and allied races in the future?
Hair/skin/eye color, tattoos, tail options for worgen, etc.
Will there ever be additional voice set options for character customization?
For example, having a Kul’tiran or Gilnean accent on a human character would satisfy many players.
Brian Holinka has been bought back as the Lead Combat Designer of WoW to address game/class design. After 3 months of strategizing a plan and implementation strategy to address class/game design must exist. What is it?
As far back as March of this year, Models for a visually updated version of the First Mate’s Hat have been datamined, as well as a black variant of the hat, and Crew Hats for the Freehold Pirates.
What patch do we get them for transmog, and will they be cosmetic gear?
2011 Devs: “cross-faction communication was banned outright” to “foster a sense of factional pride”. 2018: patch breaks add-on that lets friendly players RP faction conflict; I’m still getting dude-bros shouting obscenities and “FOR THE HORDE” at me and my Kaldorei shirt. Toxic faction atmosphere: feature, or bug?
Would Blizzard be willing to make class design the forefront of development priorities here on out? Clearing development focus away from the classes has left the core game less satisfying, making new content less exciting.
Thalassian does not allow for blood and void elves to communicate, in game. When trying to use the language to communicate cross faction it shows up in chat as gibberish, just like every other language.
I agree with Akirä that professions require a massive overhaul and would go so far as to say that anything less would be pointless. On a constructive note Blizzard does not need to overhaul the profession system from scratch. The profession system of Lost Arc is an excellent model to emulate in WoW.
The Kul Tirans are shown to have up to three different body types-- skinny guys, normal guys, and big guys, and then two for the females. You’ve clearly embraced that there’s body diversity among the Kul Tirans, so will you allow these as customization options when they become playable? Why or why not?
Patch 8.1 recently broke an addon that roleplayers used to make cross faction role play easier on roleplay servers. While its understandable why that was broken and how it could be exploitative, is it possible to reach a happy median specifically for RP realms? Perhaps something like allowing cross faction communication SPECIFICALLY on RP servers when Warmode is turned off for both parties involved and only when on their respective proper server shards?
The above is the question, but I wanted to expand a bit more. Currently there is no REAL difference between RP and Non-RP realms in World of Warcraft outside of an unspoken set of “rules and guidelines” While I understand Roleplaying is a niche part of the community are there any plans to facilitate them more to differentiate the servers more in ways that do not feel like purely afterthought? Things such as better calendar function’s, cross faction communication options, even less restrictive transmog options while on the server shard itself?
When class balancing is being reviewed, why is it preferred to roll back the more powerful classes to the weaker class levels instead of bringing the under-performing classes up to the levels of the higher-performing classes?
2 super short questions please and thank you.
Given that the starting quests now yield more rep for doing them was anything put into place for those of us that have already done them?
Would it be possible to do a massive rep possible list achievement for both horde and alliance and as we max them turn them green? Much like the pathfinder progress? It’d be super helpful for those of us that wish to hit the ones we already have the account credit for.
When can we expect Ashran to return?
I love you.
How long until you and the company admit to releasing an unfinished game, have failed to utilize PTR, Beta and Alpha so it reduces the amount of bugs and other problematic issues that seem to arise on LIVE? When do we get an apology for the writing and direction? When will you fix your game?
Before when I did Island Expeditions I knew if I killed certain mobs my chance at the loot they dropped would increase, I targeted those mobs and I even fought horde trying to kill the rares that droped loot, to increase my chance, I did the island invasions, which were fun cause generally they dropped better loot. Now due to the changes you get a tank to pull everything on a mount and you and the other person mine nodes and finish it in 45sec, you changed the loot because you didn’t like the way it was being played, well you have changed it so its now not fun at all and just mining. Sometimes intended game play is not what you expect, that actually doesn’t mean its not fun, you changed it to try to get the game play you wanted for islands and in effect made it not fun and worse from a game play point of view, completely taking out any skill strategy and fun , and replacing it with RNG grind mining , maybe ask players if they like the current system before you change it?
What consultation does Blizzard do when implementing these types of changes with players ? and can you give us an example?, excluding class mechanics/class game play.
