Been trying to find a guild since P3. Have 5 80s my main being a 5.4k Mage. Been putting advos in and trying for so long now. Only gotten 2 responses and both are guilds that raid way too late. I don’t know what/if I am doing something wrong, but makes me want to quit seriously sick of doing gdkps. Had no problem in P1/P2 on my Lock but my former guild fell apart. Either there’s a huge influx of mages or I’m doing something wrong. Anyways if anyone on Grobb needs a main raider mage and raids during 1ST-7ST (4-10PMEST) hmu please. I’m not a crazy social person so that’s def a reason why but never had this much bad luck with getting a guild. Feelsbadman

I’d advise googling your server’s Discord and checking it out.
Most server-specific discords have guild recruitment tab with ads.
This is where I found my new guild after I left my old guild of 2 years in middle of this phase.

can keep looking at reddit or so too but kinda late to the game i think everyone is ready to go into icc in less than a month lol so it’s pay or nothing.

It might be the demand is low for mages but also I don’t know many guilds that run this early in the day on Grobb Horde. Most guilds start somewhere between 5 and 7, had the opposite problem as I preferred a later start than most guilds.
this is your issue, this time is way too early, finding a guild that ends by 7pst (10 est), you’re looking for a unicorn

Just realized time is in PST not EST.
There is like 1 or 2 guilds on Pagle only that do that. That’s out of 100’s of guilds.

But it’s a pst server, guilds will go off pst times, if you want to raid you’ll likely need to make the move to an est server, where you’ll find a lot more guilds

Not that many ppl use this, but a useful tool is warcraftlogs.
If you’re logged in, on the top banner on the far right, there’s a Recruitment tab. Go there and put in the required parameters. There are lots of them, but only 5 required parameters in order to subset the database of guilds properly.
Fill out Availability, Faction, Server, Language, Specialization (not sure why it needs this) but you’ll have to before you can search. A list of guild profiles will show up that match the parameter values you put in. Grobb is smaller so you’ll only get like 5-6 candidates. On Faerlina, even some weirdo values like tues/wed/thurs midnight-6am, you’d still get over a dozen candidates returned. On every guild profile, there will be discord info, officers to message etc, lots of stuff.

Most common way to find new guild is to run as a pug with some guild raids. I ran 4/5HM runs with two guilds on my disc alt and both offered to join the guild. Even though my main guild doesn’t care where do you keep alts of if you alt of another guild. I just don’t have stamina to be part of few guilds. Some people actually like it.

This is your issue. I sympathize a bit because I’m an east coast player raiding on a west coast realm, but the honest truth is if you want to stay on Grobb, you’re going to have to raid til midnight EST. It’s nearly impossible to find a guild that ends raids earlier than 9pm server time.
Otherwise, transfer to an east coast realm. All guilds use realm time for their raids, so if you’re on an east coast realm, you’ll find plenty of guilds that end at 9pm EST.

I think alot of those mages are making a mage for once cataclysm drops and the orange staff which can proc an extra spell is added. It happened in each expansion where the next expansions amazing class was leveled.
If we do get wrath era we might have what I call casualification where the players in wrath are more casual because the trend is as the expansions advance the raids become harder generally.

Join server discord and post yourself in looking for guild. Guilds on pagle are begging for mages. Even my guild, is what it is, tue/thur 8-1130 est.
Does Cata introduce the “guild finder”? I can’t recall, can anyone help confirm?

We take any and all on Whitemane (H) …just hit up any Hygiene member. Don’t care about gear or current parses just that you are not a dbag and are willing to put in work.
New guild <Smourne for Smashole> recruiting all players who are interested in dedicating their playtime to a greater cause.

Have you considered a server transfer for you mian? Look at other server discords and find a guild first and then transfer.
