Listened to the Holinka/Venruki Interview - Mind Control

If we’re wasting good devs on the Mind Control problem, and it’s difficult, can’t we just remove MC from Arena? If it’s been a 6-month problem, it’s almost certainly not worth wasting more time on.

I feel like this is where management goes wrong. 6 months and no fix means remove the problem and move on. Let the Priests cry. We’d rather a better game.

Do you think designers are the ones who work on fixing bugs?

Holinka said, “we have some of our best developers working on this.”

Yeah do you think those are the same people that make new stuff, I’m truly curious

Why is making new stuff relevant?

The point was those would be different teams entirely, you don’t have someone like Ion working on fixing a bug like that, you don’t have some guy in the art department either

While it takes a good while to work on fixing MC bug, it also isn’t having the impact you think because there are simply different teams. The people fixing bugs aren’t the ones making new content, they’d just fix another bug. I highly doubt they want it to stay though to begin with, they’ve gotta be emotionally invested in fixing it if it’s taken that long lol

I dunno the devs I work with that release code that breaks production or causes unintended bugs usually do fix the code. Just saying

I guess I’m an idiot then. Given that this is the only bug in the game, they should definitly keep working on the MC bug.

It’s not actually

Yes. I know. That’s the point I’m getting at.

I think that was his point; either way if it was somehow harming their productivity they probably wouldn’t be putting the effort into it

But also good luck making the people who do care about this sort of thing stop working on it as well.

Ya those people still aren’t the people with new ideas for content etc., so if everything else is settled there’s no way this is holding anything back somehow

Very likely they put energy fixing it when they can

Ya I agree I’m p sure it’s possible for blizzard to work on multiple bugs at once. And MC bug is a really important bug to fix, would be really cringe to disable it

If this is true, why do we keep hearing about an all-hands on deck situation?

I’m not sure I heard an all hands on deck just that devs are working on solving it and it’s really hard to solve it for reasons that make sense

Why dont they just roll MC into mind soothe and make mind soothe reduce aggro/range and apply a 5 second stun?

I get that MC is a super fun spell to use, but if its a problem just delete it like the guy said.

Also nothing wrong with a priest having 2 stuns that break on damage.

aight lets hit a middle ground

develop a new change into the game that disables mind control in arena

no bug fix needed

ur actually all wrong and blizzard has their finest chimpanzee crew on the MC bug. outsourcing at its finest.

They need to stop messing around with mind control and work on crafted clothing dyes

I worded it poorly; the wording was meant to describe that they probably think people like Ion are the ones working on it
