I could go on forever. Do y’all ever stop to think it’s just bad writing, and not one character being so special over all the others?

It’s just bad writing. All characters are written poorly. Nathanos, Garrosh, Taelia, Kael’thas, Rhonin, the Windrunner sisters. The only one I ever found well-written was Wrathion, but they’re making him perfect, powerful, and confident, too. Please keep him dumb and prone to mistakes.

Maybe Khadgar escapes this?

Either way, as I said down in the thread, there’s no point in calling one character a Mary Sue when they’re all astoundingly-powerful beings. They’re on the same level.

I don’t mind a powerful, overconfident Wrathion, but let him make mistakes due to his overconfidence.

Exactly. I want him to be wrong and slip up over and over again. That is what made him interesting in MoP and War Crimes. He’s just so dumb.

He really, truly thought Anduin was going to hug him. He reached out his arms until he was knocked almost flat on the floor. That big dumb idiot.

I think it is time I stop reading this forum, half the time I don’t even know what people are talking about anymore and have to google the abbreviation or terms they use.

I quite like Flynn, partly because he can be comically incompetent.

I think Flynn will be safe because he is a comedy relief. Hopefully they write his upcoming romance well.

I’m pretty sure every NPC of note in the story is a Mary Sue to someone. Or perhaps a Mary Ellen or Mary Jo or Merry Maid. I dunno.

Mary Sue is one of those terms that’s been so diluted and misapplied as to no longer have meaning.

Well, yes, the definition of Mary Sue is loose enough and peoples perceptions varied enough that I’m sure everyone is a Mary Sue / Marty Stu.

I think the only true Mary Sue in WoW is Nathanos. Nobody uses the term right, they just use it against any character they hate, but Nathanos is actually based on a game developer who has the hots for Sylvanas.

It’s 2020. The word Mary Sue has lost its meaning due to being abused and misused by fragile easily offended outrage andys.

A Mary Sue is a perfect self-insert character, and Nathanos has been proven to be a self-insert lol.
