The original titles seem to too closely resemble a naming convention Dwarfs would use to classify their Warriors.
One thing that came to mind was that these talents could’ve been cross-class, meaning at least a couple classes could have access to the same set of talents, but that’s for another system.
DH -
Warlock -
Rogue -
As a monk, I think the three best choices would be:
Brewmaster: Martial / Magic specs (i.e. your Shado-Pan and Master of Harmony)
Windwalker: Martial / Summoning specs (i.e. your Shado-Pan and Conduit of Celestials)
Mistweaver Magic / Summoning specs (i.e. your Master of Harmony and Conduit of Celestials)
It’d be kind of silly if we just got three different flavors of punchy-kick-a-mans. I’m not too concerned about the names though.
Oh yeah, good point, that’d be great to see
This one hundred percent, also dark ranger and sentinel are both elven archetypes seems strange, not a big fan of this.
Priest: Remove Archon and Oracle, add in Loa Priest / Moon Priest and for Void I’d go for Sanguine spec.
Assuming Lightsmith is the Ret focused one, Herald of the Sun is the Holy focused one, and Templar is the Prot focused one. All commentary will be based on these assumptions.
Lightsmith: it’s OK. References Lightforge dungeon set and the Lightforged ingots the Silver Hand uses to craft its weapons and armor. As well as the tendency of Ret Paladin to pull hologram weapons out of thin air and smash them over the heads of our rivals like some Green-Lantern-adjacent superhero.
My critique would be that Ret is arguably the “darkest” Paladin spec and probably shouldn’t monopolize “Light–” away from Holy since this tree is likely shared with Prot. Feel like the damage dealing spec name should be… angrier?
Herald of the Sun: Meh. I get that this references spells like Light of Dawn and its related talents, and is probably also a nod to Blood Elf and possibly Tauren culture. But the first thing that comes to mind, for me at least, is that I’m building a bonfire and spamming /praise before every combat
I feel like this is only not called “Lightbringer” because of Lightsmith.
Templar: This is a great name, but given the violent history of the Knights Templar it probably should have been the DPS one. If they wanted a place to reference Blood Elves, the Spellbreaker hero would have fit nicely here. Would have, had the devs not seen fit to give their signature ability to Warriors at a time when Blood Elves could not even roll Warrior
Blademaster is an Agility hero in WC3, stop it… It fits more with Windwalker Monk
I only really liked Mage, Priest and Druid, and Dark Ranger the other ones seem a bit generic.
Cant wait for Priest, Sunsfury and Keeper of the Grove
We’ll need to know more about these but for now here are some of my ideas!
(Not all classes are here)
Warrior
Death Knight
Hunter
Shaman
Mage
Warlock
Monk
This is just wrong…
Sunsfury is fire/arcane
Spellslinger frost/arcane
Frostfire, frost/fire
There is no such thing as Archmage (you already are, after Legion)
Hey look DH gets 2/3s the options of everyone else as usual. Can I get 1/3 off my sub fee for maining DH?
Evokers seemed a little boring, imo.
Would it be better to have stuff related to other types of dragons?
Yeah, also the DH ones were pretty lame as well
They said they started with druid because it was the most complex. Seems like it will be just like last beta where they did DH at the last second. Might as well just call the 2 specs “Green” and “Purple”
At min they should give DH 3 options like everyone else.
Windwalker Monk can’t use 2H sword though
Blademasters are not masters of punching, kicking and then sometimes maybe using a sword, they are masters of a blade. Sure they may have had a move called “Wind walk” but they also had one called “Bladestorm”.
Blademasters from Warcraft 3 were squishy as hell. Not very warrior like doing images, going stealth and being agility based. Sorry but no…
Mountain Thane, should be called Mountain King though …
Honestly, Blademasters might fit better as rogues with the squishness into account. Might fit alongside Wardens.
Perhaps there could be a passive that allows them to wield warglaives and two-handed swords?
BMs feel a little too out of place to add into the mage class.
The traditional Blademaster weapon is a poleaxe. Or at least it was, until they made the HD one a sword for Cataclysm PvP and kept it going forward when they reintroduced the Burning Blade clan in WoD. They still wear leather (and sometimes blindfolds, a leather-exclusive transmog) and split into three images, though.
