Blizzard by Ion himself has noted that the hero spec list are the most likely “to change” based on community feedback, some of these hero specs seem more like “Super specs”… like is a Destro Warlock being a Hellcaller not just a “super destro” warlock… where a Marksman hunter being a Dark Ranger actually something more different, or a survival hunter being a Sentinel using glaives
I just think the specs should clearly derive inspiration from the two specs they’re between and not become “super specs”
Example " druid of claw" perfect fit between feral and guardian.
“Elune’s chosen” is just super balance druid. It is between balance and guardian cause “moon bear”
As an overall suggestion: Attach visuals to these trees. Just leaning into one specific skill doesn’t actually make you feel like the hero unit in name.
This is the only one I’m mid on for DK. Like San Layn is functionally synonymous with Blood spec, and I have doubts that it will be thematically unique enough from Blood to actually feel cool. Really excited to see what Rider of the Apocalypse looks like.
For warriors, I feel like “Mountain Thane” needs to be changed. Yes, it’ll make sense lore-wise for Dwarf related warriors…but what about everyone else?
I understand - it’s just historically Druid shapeshifting is a convoluted mess when it comes to tanking and shifting out. Resto+Balance are synergistic.
I’m not going to even pretend that I know what someone else is thinking and to me this is about as abstract as it gets.

Am I supposed to assume they are lightning specialists? What does this have to do with the class on a game level?

I’ve never understood what this is supposed to be. I get that they are apparently the leader of a Shaman community… but beyond that, I don’t get it.
