It is possible. One major reason I said in the other thread folks need to watch and wait rather than start milling about and raging like a mob of Fallen Ones from Diablo 1. Old school players know what I mean… “Rakanishu!”
All cenarion druids, so everything but some kultirans and non elunarian trolls, worship elune yes.
Theres a reason half the guardian and like 3/4ths of the balance talent tree all reference elune. If its druid moon magic its elune.
I didn’t like that 2/3 of the Hunter specs are “Elven-themed.”
My original hunter is a troll. Troll Sentinels? Maybe Troll Dark Rangers I’d understand a bit more, but idk, not a fan.
Basically I feel I’m being forced into Pack Leader just by the name alone, lol.
Something that thematically makes sense for me.
I’m hoping they’re just names, and I don’t have to see stuff like Sentinel Owl as an ability.
Gladiator
Vengeful Slayer
Those sound better to me than Slayer and Mountain.
Also, perhaps just me, but Mountain Thane and Colossus sound like the exact same thing.
Something big, juggernaut-like, like a mountain.
No, no, no, no, no, no, no. No. NO.
Shadowmage [Voidweaver is fine, I just want Shadowmage]
Lightcaller
Confessor
Bard
Necromancer
Priest
Archon
Assuming Archon is between Holy/Shadow.
Then take StarCraft 2 Twilight Archon which is a being of pure energy and power.
Then take Naaru having a cycle of Light/darkness and they are beings of pure energy.
I think Archon fits well and can be the conduit to explore the Naaru aspects since they walk the balance that is otherwise a diametrically opposing specs/themes.
So I approve of Archon.
Also, The icon portrait of an Archon is VERY similar in look to the icon portrait of Shadowform.
There are UNCANNY similarities.
Demon Hunter
I don’t like either Hero Path name.
Instead, introduce a familiar and cool Hero name…
Warden
With Warden, it can explore more of the glaive aspect of Demon Hunter and possibly act like a ranged spec or at least a spec that can go in and out of range.
Lots of inspiration can come from the warden fight in Vault of the Wardens dungeon and from Warcraft III
Bonus!!!
Tinker
(Potential New Class idea)
Specializations
- Mechanic
- Technician
- Chemist
Hero Paths
- Mechanic/Technician = Bounty Hunter
- Technician/Chemist = Plague Doctor
- Chemist/Mechanic = Abomination
all 3 of these actually fit Troll really well.
Sentinel is basically just a hunter of your respective loa, Pack Leader you can be a raptor or tigerlord, Dark ranger may be the closest you can get to “Bwonsamdi” shadowhunter.
It’s just that Sentinels in WoW are specifically Night Elven Rangers.
It’s not just the word ‘sentinel’, like a watcher, it’s already a thing that exists in WoW, and that’s where my issue is.
Make it less-race specific, and I’ll be fine with it.
Dark Ranger, is basically the Sylvanas/Horde equal to that.
I guess I’m not too impressed with either of 'em, I’d prefer something less associated with elves for my hunter.
It would be neat for one of the rogue hero specs to be bard. Unless the plan is to make it a support spec down the line.
Yuck, don’t call me a mage. If I wanted to be a mage, I would be a mage.
Yes this is correct but think of what a Sentinel is. multiple societies in azeroth have similar orgs from the Blood elf Farstriders to the Dwarven guards patrolling the mountains or the Draenei Rangari
I guess I don’t like being called Elune’s Chosen [Elune favors Night Elves more than others]. I would prefer Starweaver or the names I posted earlier.
Which just means that racial names might be a good thing for some of these specs.
Actually, Warlocks had Verdant Sphere Glyphs for their Soul Shards and there is a Kael’thas fel-green one. While I personally think Blood Mage is better served to go to Warlock, (Blood being historically in lore some very dark magic) there is also the fact that is simply because they traffic in darker spells tied to the Legion. Banish, Drain Mana, all were or are staples of the Warlock Class.
Yet fairness where it is due, Mage has Flame Strike and Phoenix. So the point I’d make is that it is something both should have. Blood Wizard for Warlock with the darker half of the spells. Archmage or something comparable for Mages that taps that theme but on the cleaner side of their magic.
You’ll note I don’t use Blood Mage as the term. I went that road, because it’d just spawn people trying to claim the class for themselves, when it’s really something both Mages and Locks have an equal stake to and should be indulged on. So lets give both classes what they want and the corresponding Spheres.
If there’s overlap? Oh well. Oh and delete Shadowform or give up a glyph that shuts it off fully.
seems to be misconceptions ITT. these aren’t hero versions of specific specs, they are just hero talents that build on overarching specs
slayer isnt a hero version of fury, it builds on fury/arms
pack leader isnt a hero version of BM, it builds on SV/BM
With just names, not a lot of clarity on fantasy. Seems light to me, like “let’s grab some themes that we can quickly iterate and deliver”. I don’t hate this as a starting place but it cannot rest here.
Master of Harmony
Does this have to do with Awakening the Spiritual Universe Within, an ocean within a single drop? What about those magical melodies – that harmonic convergence – we saw from creation engines at Zereth Mortis? Do we learn to unlock anything more from that discovery and how it relates to the sublime state of being and non-being, which is free for Monk to thematically play upon?
Shado-Pan
Will we finally be able to use our weapons again? I’ve been begging for a return of Jab and honestly, I hope that the Shado-Pan, which is a robust and thorough network of many classes brings that reality back. (To me, the Shado-pan seems most closely Rogue though, given Taoshi’s presence in future stories). I am hoping this theme decision is more closely related to a Peak Performace, a purity of physical discipline and development of body in the Mind Body Soul trigram of the Worldsoul Saga.
Conduit of the Celestials
Is this making the PLAYER the Conduit or is this just summoner Monk? We still don’t really have a good class vision given the class’s botched implementations the last two expansions, and this strange confusion of how the class works (which Blizzard is slowly learning–e.g., latest tier set). I also feel in order to meet the wuxia fantasy, the name of this category is missing an adjective, such as Conduit of Wandering Celestials. The name’s ability to be condensed to Celestial Conduit makes it clear (to me anyways) that the longer-form name is a throwback to this more mysterious and specific naming convention.
That’s my 2 cents anyways. Did anyone first consult the diagrams?
Oracle can easily fit into the scheme of Elemental mate. Tide Priest Shamans are often called Oracles. Using water instead of fire to blast things. Using stone and storm also. As for damage potential and why it would work…
Anyone ever been hit with a stream of water from a high pressure hose? Don’t!
Rider of the Apocalypse: Too long just go with Scourgelord.
San’layn: Their other name “Darkfallen” is better name honestly
