Linux users unable to log in, WOW51900328/329 error after logging in

Arch Linux

Windows systems here can login without issues but mine can’t, all on the same connection. Linux is definitely being actively blocked. While it may not be intentional, i’m canceling my subscription until they get this resolved.

Ubuntu 19.04/Lutris here, getting error WOW51900328 after selecting realm. IPv6 is disabled, this may be a factor.
Maybe others who are getting this error could report their IPv6 status.

Theres a problem with that though, NOT ALL ISPs support IPv6 … Comcast notably does not in most regions… so that’s kinda of a no go for alot of folks.

I thought it was odd everyone else could log in besides me, when picking a realm it hangs on “Logging in to game server”, and eventually drops back to login screen and gives the “WOW51900328” error.

Looks like they may be blacklisting linux users as some sort of ddos protection measure, sucks that we get thrown under the bus whenever someone decides to attack, it pisses me off that the community itself is more helpful than blizzard when it comes to a linux issue, why should we get punished for not wanting to use windows?

Using Ubuntu 18.04 LTS, Wine Lutris version 4.12

Jumped on my windows dual boot and it works primo, so they really are fricking over linux users at the moment.

Really??? no blue post on this issue yet???

Well I disabled IPv4 and it didn’t change anything. This does seem to be related to Linux fingerprints in packet headers.

You won’t see one, Linux is not officially supported … They can’t and wont say anything by policy.

I havent found any way to make my linux machine look like windows, without getting more involved than I have time for over a game. I don’t have access to a windows computer that is capable of playing warcraft, and even if i did i dont have the time to transfer this massive game to a computer just to see if it works.

the other ips for blizzard give about the same result
im in salt lake county utah on comcast xfinity. linux 4.19.40 wine 4.6 staging, classic server benediction

i tried connecting over my phones hotspot on tmobile with the same result. i cant reset the xfinity ip or use ipv6.

IPv6 works for me, but my wireless router doesn’t support, so it’s either buy hardware or plug directly into my gateway…ewwww.

Other way around bud, wireless is ew wired is best.

Another Linux user here unable to play.
Manjaro and lutris.
Will try a modified wine build to try and bypass the filtering later.
Time to take a break from classic already I guess…
edit: It still works on windows for me btw
edit2: changine the default ttl to 128 works for now. Thanks for the workaround !

Majaro + Lutris here.
Same issue, please fix.

Surely there is a more sophisticated way to mitigate the DDOS.

Cancelling my subscription in the meanwhile.

Same. Realms time out when onmy ubuntu disk, and login no problem on my windows disk. I hate using windows so hoping they undo this soon.

Same issue here. Can’t connect, Ubuntu 18.04 + Lutris. Wife’s computer (Windows) on the same network worked fine.

Pretty hamfisted way to address the issue.
