I won’t even talk to someone IRL who doesn’t have AOTC. Mom is confused and sad.

AotC isn’t the reason why these groups exist. It’s the people running these groups that is the reason why these groups exist.

Based on what he has posted I suspect this post here was more like a devil’s advocate post.

I remember back in WoD I raid lead a Blackhand pug without AOTC.

We all were new there and it went smoothly til Blackhand… then we spent like 3 hours wiping and replacing… rinse and repeat, so you’d think it was horrible, but it turned out to be the one memory I still remember fondly from WoD…

People don’t look for experiences anymore. They look for efficient ways to have fun in an effort to have fun then fail to have fun because they’re too busy trying to have fun.

It’s why most WoW players are cynical nowadays. You just have to deal with it and get AOTC, all while feeling sorry for them cause they don’t know how to have fun

To be fair, it can be a bit more complicated then that. I personally enjoy progression. I usually join guild groups that are progressing when I pug as I find that more fun than one and done groups. Recently however, I was asked to swap to my mage for progression. Well the font trinket off of Azshara is an absolute must for fire mages. On the weeks I couldn’t make it to our groups alt night (we don’t do heroic for the main group anymore), I had to pug it.

At that point… I need a near guarantee of success, and I’m not there for progression anymore… I want a one and done so I can do other things. Yes I enjoy progress, but the whole point of me joining those pugs was NOT for progress. It was to check “Kill Heroic Azshara and Coin to pray for font” off my weekly list and that’s it. I already put plenty of time doing progression on that boss in my own guild, and helping other guilds. Now I would like a group of like minded individuals to roflstomp the boss.

Heck yes!! CHEERS!

Yea Aotc is easy to get carried, I’ve carried bads myself who can’t even do 20k DPS as a 440.

However it filters out people who don’t know fights or have zero experience.

Even if you got carried for Aotc at-least you have seen the fights, even then they can always be removed if they are actually bad.

It’s no different than people who get carried in M+ for RaiderIO.

Aotc is a meme achievement anyways, all the fights this tier are so easy that anyone with 25k+ DPS can get it.

BoD was a harder raid than this one.

You say the removal of AOTC is what is needed. You also say blizzard is taking notice of this, yet at the same time It doesn’t take an achievement for anyone to figure out if someone has cleared the content. They can just look up your character on the WoW website. If you make it private, then they will just auto decline you. You cant stop “elitist” behavior.

By the way. If you are having a hard time getting AOTC then join a guild (like others suggested). I have been raiding with this guild since end of legion and I have gotten every AOTC since. Heroic is really easy (too easy in fact even before nerfs) so with a guild its not hard at all to get it. I NEVER pug anything anymore. I do my Mythic+ with guild and i raid with my guild.

Imagine only inviting people who only have AOTC.

You know what kind of groups I pugged during Antorus?
I would look on warcraftlogs and only take orange parses melee and purple parses and higher for ranged. And having Amanthul would get you also higher up the priority list. Sometime we had 3 or 4 amanthul xd

I made those kind of group to do high parses on warcraftlog because that’s something that people enjoy when they’re done with content.

I’m sure that will upset some people.

Lesson to learn, people can decide who they want in their group, with whatever standards. If you don’t like it make your own or join guilds and learning groups and etc.

lol.

Lets remove all achievements to. Before AOTC existed, there were… other ways to figure this stuff out.

Anyone who is better then you is an elitist I bet.

That’s why people install raider io. Can’t spoof something that comes from armory…

AOTC is for those damn elitist players that put in minimum effort to get something done, often as part of some sort of community (or guild, if you will), that can be gotten within the first week of heroic if you put a minuscule amount of effort in. And months after it was released, since a lot of people are currently pugging 4/8 Mythic, it’s kind of inexcusable for kids to be whining about AOTC when the raid is this damn easy.

Try putting some effort into your PvE.

Find a guild, form your own group, etc. Ive seen plenty of pugs not need aotc.

No raid leader is worth their salt if they don’t know how to read logs and parses. Why would a real raid lead check the armory when they could check logs in the same amount of time if they know what they’re looking at?

In theory you gain experienced players who have seen the fight. Not everyone with aotc got carried to it.

As long as you are having fun, then it’s totally awesome in my book.

This.

I don’t know what’s so hard about doing this, I guess people just really are quite inept.
