Link AOTC please

Me. “I don’t have it yet.” Raid Leader. “This is an AOTC group only.” Me. “Ok. How can I get AOTC if no one will invite me to get AOTC?” Raid Leader. “… sorry AOTC group only.” you have been removed from the group.

AOTC is a horrible gate that elitists, who usually aren’t good at the game anyway, use to halt all possible progress for the average player and not allow the average player to express their full potential in the game.

AOTC needs to be removed and I believe it’s going to be removed. Blizzard has taken notice of the toxic atmosphere that elitists bring to the game and has started to take measures to work against them and bring us all to a level playing field. I am excited to see what next expansion brings, hopefully it chases off even more elitists than have already left the last couple of expansions.

The elitist walls are crumbling and there isn’t much they can do about it but sit back, watch, and complain on the forum. Maybe if more players would actually have a conversation instead of throwing mud at each other we could overcome some of these obstacles.

TBH, I’m really not looking forward to this. We had to deal with the same thing in FFXIV to an extent.

I was honestly one of the best players on my server. I’d memorize mechanics very fast, and my DPS was always one of the best. People on my server eventually started to remember my name and invite me even if I didn’t have the clear, but even AFTER that, a majority of groups would refuse to invite you if you didn’t have the clear.

No clear? No party!..but how am I supposed to get a clear if every party…No party!

Make your own group. Don’t invite anyone who has AOTC. That’ll show em.

If you are average than learn to be better than Average. If you want help with that there are plenty of people who will. People do not have to carry you to get stuff done simply because you won’t dedicate time to it.

What are you talking about.

AOTC runs want competent people to do the raid.

They want to do a Farmrun not do a progression run.

If they wanted to waste 3+ hours they would do a non-aotc run.

Aotc runs are 1-2 hours max.

Someone not having a clear or achievement does not make them bad. It potentially means they haven’t really gotten a fair shot.

In FFXIV anyways, there were 3 types of parties. “Learning parties” which meant if you could get a clear it’d be nice but it’s not the expectation. “Know the fight” parties, where you’re trying to clear so if anyone doesn’t know the fight they’ll be booted. and “Must have a clear” parties, where unless you’ve beaten it before, no invite.

The issue is that after about the first 2-3 days, almost every single party converts into a “Must have a clear” party, and if you have a LIFE or even were just behind on content for whatever reason, finding a party becomes nigh impossible. Even for very good players.

This gate doesn’t actually weed out any bad players. If anything it causes a lot of bad players who THINK they’re good in these groups, which is honestly way worse.

Seems simple. They want people who have AOTC, and its likely a pug of people from guilds off raiding.

Didn’t you start a thread about refusing to carry your friends who just came back to the game because of their IO?..yeah

And it isn’t anyone’s responsibility to give you that fair shot. I am not going to burden myself in PuG to help you along, I will go out of my way for guild members.

Join raiding guilds, I have no sympathy for anyone who doesn’t.

Wouldn’t join those groups. Most of the time, it is the group leader that just wants to be carried.

your lack of progression isn’t his problem.

The issue isn’t 'not giving people a shot", it’s basing your decision on a meaningless achievement. There’s plenty of ways to determine if someone is bad or not without it. You could also just invite them, check how they’re playing, and if you don’t like it just immediately boot them.

The achievement doesn’t vet anything at all. It’s extremely easy to be carried through and those people who were carried will still get the achievement, same as anyone else.
