If the auction house is so severely impacted by the server capacity, why not limit the number of auctions an account can list? Surely we can do without the single stacks of cloth and arcane dust which is only done to troll the players
Unless they’re gonna limit auctions across your entire account, that doesn’t work. Players can just set up their max auctions and then move over to another character setting up max auctions there, and then make another 12 characters and do the same across all 12 of them, effectively still yielding the same amount of auctions.
I guess you, like myself, didn’t actually do much reading.
After my initial reply, I made a second response stating I did not read the post and posted my comment purely based on the title of this thread.
Sure, listing 10,000 single pieces of Linen Cloth sucks but what about people who list many single pieces knowing that it makes sense because those will sell better than stacks because there are many instances where someone don’t need entire stacks.
I think this is actually a decent idea. There are literally 10-15x as many auctions than there should be with all these single items being posted. Imagine shrinking the AH by a factor of 10!
Scammers put those stacks of 1 at various price points to push their 2,111g listings in between full stacks preying on misclicks by people who don’t use TSM. Which is alot of people right now due to throttles on multiple actions. Sad part is, the rich AH tycoons will never fall for that scam. Only the regular players who would find 2000g as a painful loss, would ever fall for it.
And then you have professions like inscription, which has 346 different glyphs. Does that mean you should be limited to only posting a small subset of the recipes you have?
I mean, the retail AH is objectively better, so I agree, just give us the retail AH. It doesn’t affect gameplay in the slightest other than making copper obsolete.
