Lightforged Draenei shouldn't have been a thing

Light-forged Draenei. Like regular Draenei but now in bleach white, and with less class options!

  • Broken would have been better.
  • Saberon as a Worgen AR would have been better
  • Mechagnomes that were all bot would have been better
  • Kul Tirans with a bit of Drust flair would have been better

But the Dev team sees the Horde as badass warriors, and they see the Alliance as “Anduin.”

I was disappointed at what “The army of the Light” turned out to be. A single ship with lightforged draenei that gets shot down to boot. The army of the Light should be a massive thing rivalling the Burning Legion. So how can we get back there? Simple, the Lightforged draenei we encounter in Legion and added to our rooster od playable character should only be a tiny sub section of something grander.

My suggestion is that we simple redefine what the army of the Light really are. My interpretation is that IF you are an ally of the light and dedicated to fight the Burning Legion and other enemies of the light then you are a member of The army of the Light whatever if you heard of them or not. This means that Uther and his paladins of the Silver Hand counts as part of this faction even if they never heard of it.

Is that hill close to the graveyard?

This already is a redefinition of the army of the light. It was originally something to be founded, not found. The implication being that Velen believed that the forces of Azeroth would be the foundation of what would one day become the army of Light.

This was before they retconned in the super secret military wing of the Eredar split off from Velen and his followers in a whole other ship and then spent the next several thousand years engaged in a game of cat and mouse with The Legion in a weird draenei space-marine power fantasy.

It was one of the laziest made races. I mean, when push comes to shove, it’s just a bleached Draenei put in to counterpoint Void Elves.

I can see that you rolled the wrong faction as nothing you said was factual. Go join the losing side.

High Elves became Blood Elves outside of a few outliers. Accept it and move on with your life.

I agree. LF draeneis shouldnt be a separate race. It should have been another customization for draeneis. Same for Kultiran humans and Highmountain taurens.

I was immensely disappointed the Alliance didn’t get the Sethrakk as an Allied Race. That would have been rad.

But at the same time I see no reason we can’t still add the Broken. Stick a nice little questline in Black Temple as a scenario or something. Fun times for all.

No lies detected.

Just like all the other current allied races.

Devs are slackin

High Elves still exist, despite how much your inferior race wishes it to be.

Not our fault the Alliance wants High Elves, while the Horde resents that you Blood Elves exist every single day since you were added in.

i’m fine with my lightforged as well as many others. stop hating just cause you don’t like don’t mean others don’t. here’s something maybe just ask for broken now?

Already playable :person_shrugging:

Hindsight being 20/20 and all, but if we had gotten Broken as an Allied Race and Lightforged Draenei as some NPC options during 7.3, they would have most likely been added as customization options during Shadowlands like Wildhammer were.

We could have had the best of both worlds.

But how could you play one if they’re broken?

LFD was the best thing added to the game when they put it in toward the end of Wrath

Disagree, but do not hate broken. Just please keep lightforged in the light and not shadow. Limit to palladins is fine with me.

The majority of the Allied Races should’ve just been customization options on the core races. Vulpera are the only ones that were an entirely new race. An argument could be made for Kul Tiran and Zandalari since they use different models than Humans and regular Trolls (at least the male Zandalari do).

LFD = Draenei, extra Light.
HMT = Tauren, but moose
DID = Dwarves on fire
Mechagnomes = Gnomes but with robot arms and legs
Mag’har = brown Orcs… that’s it
Void Elves = grape flavored Blood Elves for the Alliance
Nightborne = Night Elves who can’t be druids for the Horde

Allied Races were a gimmick to keep players logged in and grinding rep… which is being removed next patch anyway.
