Lightforged Draenei shouldn't have been a thing

It should’ve been Broken. I will die on this hill, Broken Draenei > LFD.

I want to agree, but to be honest, lightforged look cooler than normal draenei and have better customisation options.
So im not sad they were added.

Broken would have be cool though

Argus factions should have been like this:

Army of the Light - main faction

Argussian Reach - Broken

Allerian Rangers - for the race people havr been asking for and not the void soaked ones

Lightforged are a barber shop option masquerading as a race. It should have been a set of features not just for draenei, but for basically all races. Because that’s what the army of light is canonically.

The Broken of Argus should have been the allied race.

LFD are really just Draenei with lines and they called it an AR
gurl…

Likely lack of female Broken at the time.

Most of the Allied Races would’ve worked really well as customizations added to the existing races. Lightforged Draenei certainly fall into that category.

Krokul from Argus would’ve been a pretty great addition as a playable race. A much better race to explore Void themes with as well.

Given that Lightforged are the middle child of Alliance allied races in terms of popularity, I doubt the disfigured draenei that most likely would’ve been mainly played by dedicated dwarf, orc, and undead players would’ve fared any better. In fact, they’d probably be below Kul Tirans instead of slightly above.

Before DF, I would’ve said that the main thing Broken would’ve had over Lightforged was having access to shaman, rogue, and warlock, which is now a moot point when regular draenei have or will have all three and LFs will invariably get shaman at a later date. I also doubt Broken would launch with paladins, for obvious reasons, and only have priests because of Shadow, which would also hurt them for not having the most popular class for draenei and LFs, but giving them paladins post-release would also defeat the purpose of them being a separate race entirely.

would’ve provided the class-race options not available to regular draenei. we wouldn’t have the need to remove class restrictions and every race keeps their identity intact:

Krokuul Warlocks, Rogues
Wildhammer Druids
Feltotem Warlocks/ Grimtotem Rogues
High Elf Druids/ Shamans
Gilgoblin Druids

Neither LF or Velf should have been a thing. At most, they should have been some kind of unique power up tied to some new unique class/class reskin for Draenei and Belf.
It’s just flatly idiotic that Velf or LF would infuse themselves with void and light magic and then go “No, wait, actually I’ll just swing a sword or use some random unrelated magic instead”. I’d say it’s laughably stupid, but it’s actually just so flatly stupid it’s not even really funny. Just pathetic.

LFD are cool. Broken look stupid, and I see no point in them at all.

The definition of an allied race is an alternate version of a main race using the same skeleton.

Kul’tirans, Zandalari, Vulpera?

Kul’tirans use Pandaren skeleton. But you may have a point with Zandalari and Vulpera.

If it were broken instead of lightforged then it would just be another crappy ugly allied race that no one would play like Kul Tirans and mechagnomes.

Virtually every single allied “race” shouldn’t have been a thing.

Fat human =/= new race
brown orc =/= new race
tauren with moose antlers =/= new race
soot/fire dwarves =/= new race
tattooed draenei =/= new race
gnomes with robot parts =/= new race

Horde likely wouldn’t have Nightborne if Alliance didn’t get Void Elf.

In fact, Nightborne likely would’ve been given to Alliance instead, as they are an Alliance skeleton.

And likely would have given the same stupid explanation, only instead of being offended by Tyrande asking a perfectly reasonable question - they would’ve had Thalyssra be offended by Liadrin asking the same question, which she did do, just phrased differently. But for some reason, she didn’t get offended by Liadrin enough to participate in Genocide against the Horde by the question, just by Tyrande asking it.

Nightborne and Void Elf are the only faction skeleton swap to happen.

Void Elves are still a mistake, yes.

Their origin is bad too. They should have been the High Elves under Alleria and not random, nobody Blood Elves just because Blizzard hates High Elf fans that much.

I just love all of the random names people come up with for ‘High Elves’ in an order to justify making a race playable that was already made playable since The Burning Crusade.
