Listen, I enjoy blizzard April fools jokes. But let’s be honest. Most of us alliance folks were ecstatic to see lightbound undead. It made lore sense, they looked great. Honestly blizzard, please consider throwing that into the story and introducing it down the road. A lot of us actually loved it. That’s my two cents! Thanks for listening.
Still waiting on my playable lightbound ogre paladin, Blizz.
Make sure the casting animation is just the current ogre /dance please.
We’re getting there though that’s the weird thing – Blizzard has already invested so much time and effort into introducing light infused forsaken as an allied race that to backtrack would be silly at best.
Of course it might be something we don’t see until as long as next xpac’s pre-patch.
Lightbound undead is literally in their own lore and a pretty big hope among Alliance players. It better not just be an April fools joke.
There is a MASSIVE reference to it from Jaina when Derrick Proudmoore is returned.
Because of the lore Blizzard established about the Light and the way it effects the undead… I think Light Bound Forsaken/Undead (whatever) is a stupid idea.
I honestly think they did that April Fools to throw people off and there actually will be LBUDs in game.
It’s just them writing themselves out of the corner with Calia Menethil. Which is a corner they shouldn’t have to write themselves out of but they’re doing it.
It also really defeats the purpose of having opposite elements be the bane of each other when you have a race that contradicts it.
I feel like it also undermines any rules that may have been established via lore. I feel like we get nothing but first drafts of stories or ideas that have no greater reason than “It’d be cool”.
Well, actually that april fools joke wasnt Blizz official. It was a wowhead one, so it could be a real thing in the future.
Okay.
But you’re posting on a level 120 Horde character. Can’t really call yourself an Alliance player if you’re posting on a Horde character.
And I doubt most Alliance players were ecstatic to see Lightbound Undead. It was a good, ‘Gotcha,’ April Fool’s joke. I got so many whispers and so many DMs over Discord from people who legitimately thought it was real and they were saying they were done with WoW and asking me what server I play on in FFXIV.
Alliance players, in general, are not happy with their Allied Races. Lightbound Undead would be just another Allied Race that wasn’t asked for by the Alliance.
I’m sure some people loved it, but let’s no try to speak on behalf of other players.
Adding undead to the alliance and you may as well just get rid of factions.
Has anything from that book actually made it in game? Fairly sure Blizzard is going the Med’an the whole thing.
If Alliance gets Lightbound Undead, then what do Horde get?
Calia is going to become the new racial leader of the Forsaken (now kinder and gentler) after we lose Sylvanas. May as well start bracing ourselves for it now.
Well, the gravestones for the Forsaken Sylvanas killed are in the Arathi Warfront.
There’s a massive mega thread for High Elves that’s been up for months now. I can’t imagine the Alliance cheering for a shiny version of a Horde race, when it’s clearly obvious which one they want added.
I could not agree more.
They don’t have to write themselves out of a corner there. Calia is a special NPC created for special purposes via a one-off ritual that doesn’t have to be explained. She’s like… Nathanos. They’re both special cases that don’t need “allied races” to justify their existence.
Yes, I believe the Goblin and Gnome couple are in the game or atleast referenced.
I honestly want the Void-touched races.
It was wowhead, not Blizzard.
Man. After high elves and light forged undead, I wonder what Horde race will be spearheaded to join the Alliance.
I know before BFA launched there were threads about light forged orcs (from AU Draenor) and forest trolls.
Alliance complains the Horde story is better, but still wants to play as all the Horde races. Just on the Alliance. With the Alliance story.
This is why the Alliance gets 673 different types of horses.
