Fair enough, though really, I’m referencing the numerous posts and feedback Alliance players have given regarding their Allied Races. I worded it poorly enough to come across as speaking on behalf of other players, rather than pointing out the overwhelming negative feedback.
It’d be pretty funny if Alliance got no-bones undead (Lightbound UD as shown by Wowhead) as an allied race. All those undead players tired of torn armor would finally get their wish… with the caveat of going team blue.
There is something I don’t get about lightbound forsaken tho. In lore there is just one, Calia. What reason could there be for the alliance to raise more? Isn’t raising people a bad thing that only twisted beings like Sylvanas, LK, and DKs do? Wouldn’t Anduin oppose?
Honestly, I would prefer a faction agnostic future with all races playing together. I, possibly, like the idea of race/class restrictions. I don’t want Horde races, per se. I strongly support High Elves, however. They’ve never been a Horde race, so…
Blood Elves are High Elves who changed their name roughly 30 years ago in game, BEFORE joining the Horde and while still being allied with Humans against the Scourge.
Truly this. Would make sense to play an evil Dark Iron Dwarf on the Horde given all the dwarf starting zones in Eastern Kingdoms feature Dark Irons Loyalists fighting the allied dwarfs and working against Moira.
Makes a ton more sense than starting a Dark Iron and then fighting your own peeps for 10-20 levels.
It seems you’re attempting to be facetious. High Elves existed before Blood Elves and have been strong allies with the Alliance. Blood Elves were given to the Horde to try and fix the faction imbalance and because of China or something. I don’t remember a single Blood Elf in vanilla - they were all High Elves.
This is technically correct. High Elves are, however, an Alliance race. They are NPCs, but they’re exclusive to the Alliance. Blood Elves are a different race now (considering the minor distinction of Tauren and Highmountain). I think faction agnosticism is the answer. As a race idea, Lightbound/forged/redeemed Undead seem like an interesting idea. There was an Undead member of the Argent Dawn, Leonid Barthalomew, who was trying to treat his undeath. It could be an interesting convergence of Argent Dawn research, Leonid Barthalomew, Calia Menethil, Naaru, and Lightforged Draenei finding a way to save the souls of the Undead (those willing to undergo treatment).
