Only reason those are generally made (except for one i know of) is in spite of the LGBTQ mega thread. The one stated it was done as an experiment but was ultimately shut down due to the comments in it.

Experiment or no there is still a difference between being part of the ruling majority that despite things being centered around, somehow feeling now left out because a minuscule amount of attention or space is being made for marginalized communities, vs marginalized communities making spaces because of fears for safety, fears for speech, etc.
Experiment or no, well intentioned or no it never changed the fact that what was being inherently misunderstood a marginalized community needing a space.

This is a good idea!
I usually host a Christmas Time party and make a large vat of hot chocolate then we spike it with peppermint schnapps. I like this as an alternative!

My interior decorating mind is now imagining getting the little cute candy canes and doing them for aesthetic purposes in the little mugs of chocolate. Or just the sticks and not the canes and you can just stir it. Brilliant idea!

People have tried that a few times and most of the people that post in them just can’t behave themselves without breaking the COC repeatedly and then complain about it getting deleted so thank those people that can’t behave themselves or talk without breaking the COC repeatedly for not having any self control.
Also, for future references instead of coming into this thread trying to start unneeded drama go make your straight thread if you want it so badly, I cannot say that enough times to people because no one is stopping you from making it or having it if people who post in it can be civilized.
