This has a very negative vibe coming from someone who regularly doesn’t have our back. Like I really do want to believe this, but the person saying it is giving me pause.

We are all layed back and awesome over there. We don’t tolerate hate there, anymore then you all do here. A lot of people are crossed over. Anything pretty much goes over there and everyone is welcome.

I’m not saying don’t come here, because this thread is awesome as well. Both are great. We are very supportive of people over there. Only nice people allowed over there, it’s a fun thread.

Imagine making a thread called

“Straight people only Mega Thread”

Not the same as a marginalized community. So the comparison doesn’t work and never has.

You also don’t need to be LGBTQ+ to support more inclusion of LGBTQ+ characters and storylines because some people are able to discern that while they may not be apart of this marginalized community they know that representation in media like this game we all play is a real problem, so are here to support as such.

The key to being an ally is never speaking over or for the group of people you’re standing in solidarity with however. And I notice a lot of people who claim to be allies while also screaming about how we don’t need this thread show that they aren’t real allies because had they been they would listen when LGBTQ+ people have voiced why this thread is important.

I was thinking of it from the POV of how many straight romances I ship or fan over in media. I know a lot of my straight friends who enjoy LGBTQ+ storylines, in WoW alone several really like Shaw and Flynn. Is it different for them because it has less to do w representation and more entertainment? 100% but they can support the representation and also on a personal level enjoy the stories too.
