You inherently misunderstand the importance for a marginalized community to have a space then.
Can this thread be off topic? Sure. It’s a lounge thread.
But can this thread also be the focal point for discussion of new LGBTQ+ characters, storylines, etc be they main characters or minor characters, main storylines or side quests, game or book related? Yes. And that holds a significant amount of weight to people who wish to discuss those things and know this is a safe space to do so.
Does it have trolls? Sure and Blizzard cleans the thread up when pertinent. But on average I feel safer discussing a new LGBTQ story I’m excited to see or new Shaw and Flynn story here than other threads. Why? Because of my experience as an LGBTQ+ person. Some people refuse to understand other peoples experience unless they experience it and that’s a shame but that is what you are doing at this moment and I imagine what you often do that has people inclined to not appreciate your feedback because it disregards the experience of LGBTQ+ people in this thread and as a whole.

Because when people like us post in there and other places on the forum, we’re told that no one wants to hear “gay stuff”. Well before the t-virus, people were complaining about too many LGBT threads. So this place was made.
But rather than be happy that there’s a place for LGBT people to talk about issues pertinent to us and that it’s somewhat contained, you don’t want us to have this place either. There is no way to make people like you happy other than us just being completely in the closet, and we shouldn’t have to do that.
