LGBTQ+ Megathread & Lounge (Part 1)

Stop thinking like this. Just don’t participate…live and let live. Trying to make the world conform to your particular preference is what makes you come across as being kind of privileged and leads to pushback.

Like seriously, abolish all sports?

Only recently?

In 2003, a committee convened by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) Medical Commission drew up new guidelines for participation of athletes who had undergone gender reassignment. The report listed three conditions for participation. First, athletes must have undergone sex reassignment surgery, including changes in the external genitalia and gonadectomy. Second, athletes must show legal recognition of their gender. Third, athletes must have undergone hormone therapy for an appropriate time before participation, with two years being the suggested time.[5]

It was not until 2004 that the IOC allowed transgender athletes to participate in the Olympic Games.[6]

Almost 20 years isn’t recently

but for real, if you present as a man, people will call you as such. if you do not, or cannot, than yes, you do need to grow a thick skin because you cannot force anybody to call you anything.

remember readers, these days people will only attack you personally rather than your ideas. Or distort what you’re saying.

No where did i mention oppression. also, i would say the same thing to any gender, including a women who cant handle her self like the one you described.

This is not an acceptable answer. Odd, I’d expect a gay man to support other people having basic human decency but sadly trans exclusionary people exist in the orientation half of the umbrella.

In the 2020 Election the top voter issues were the economy, healthcare, supreme court appointments, pandemic management, gun control legislation, violent crime, inequality, climate change, and access to abortion. Trans issues, or even ‘political correctness’ didn’t even hit the bottom of the list.

If the country was “pushing back” to the level you constantly suggest, it would have popped into voter discourse.

I mean, most parents aren’t okay with their girl losing her spot on the volleyball team to some trans kid who decided they want to try out for the girl’s team.

If you legitimately can’t see how this is unfair, I think you are hurting your own cause.

Well when you write a wall of gibberish with poor formatting, swapping between ideas, and no consistency

Im gunna call it a wall of gibberish, sorry if this offends you

Plus last I checked this isn’t debate club, I’m under 0 obligation to care about anything you say or refute it

Living and letting live? Like I should just ignore how black and brown women are also affected by anti-trans restrictions?

Living and letting live? Like all the trans people killed each year?

Well, I guess they just need to grow a thicker skin.

I think this is a tone deaf thing to say. I don’t think people should be forced to do anything. But if people have the general expectation to allow other people to act like grown ups, and respect people’s boundaries and such, that’s really not asking for much.

A recent north Korean defector and modern day slave, escaped and eventually made her way to Columbia university in America, she said the social justice at the school brought back feelings of north korean censorship and made the whole experience not worth it.

her name is Yeonmi Park if you want to go tell her these words just mean “something i dont like”

I guess she’ll just have to practice and git gud instead of using some else as an excuse.

I find a lot of people going on about how other people need to suck it up when actual bad things happen tend to get pretty worked up when they get mildly inconvenienced.

Cool story, bro.

Millions of Black Americans have been doing the fist since the 60s. Does one girl overrule all those people?

Furthermore, what does this have to do with an LGBTQIA thread?

pretends to care about slavery, says communism just means, "somethings people dont like, is presented with example of a MODERN DAY slave from communism, will not listen to their words

mArXiSm and cOmMuNiSm are just dogwhistles and actually mean, “something I don’t like” in modern times. There’s nothing to refute here.

Some Korean chick’s take doesn’t negate the fact that the right calls everything the hate mArXiSm and cOmMuNiSm because they don’t like it.

Are they still gibberishing and try to talk about nothing to do with the topic because of… reasons?

Gee. I didn’t know saying “he” in response to being misgendered is fOrCiNg someone.

My bad. I should just sit by and keep quiet and let people walk all over me and disrespect me. Right? So I don’t hurt any cis person’s fragile feelings?

How dare expect to be treated with basic human decency. I’m such a terrible person.
