There are very few things that someone “decked out in heroic or mythic gear” will be able to roll on anyway. And if they’re rolling on something their character doesn’t have, they’re just as entitled to do so as anyone else.
I have an even better idea. Provide a currency of some type that you can collect doing LFR which can be used to purchase transmog items matching the gear.
At the same time, nobody can roll Need if they have ever gained a higher gear level for that slot. They can roll Greed if they like, on the offchance nobody actually needs the item.
I do have a fire extinguisher handy in case I get flamed for daring to utter these opinions.
Unfortunately it’s a poor hot take, because getting an upgrade gives you both the upgrade and the mog.
To everyone saying “stop looking at other people’s gear” this is just “ignore the problem” because that’s not how the game was designed. Otherwise we wouldn’t even have Need, Greed, or Transmog options. It would simply be “Roll” or “Pass”.
Just because you’re allowed to be a jerk, it doesn’t mean everyone else has to be ok with it.
Nothing in the games design says you need to inspect anyone else. It allows everyone to determine their own priority for the item. What they’re wearing and what they do with loot is none of anyone else’s business.
Not directly, no. It’s on each individual to determine whether something is an upgrade. Transmog, however, is not an upgrade. At least according to the group loot rules designed by Blizzard.
Honestly, I am very surprised at how many people are against making transmog a bit easier to unlock. You do understand that the piece still has to drop right?
The transmog roll, I thought, was a great solution to just automatically unlock the transmog of the piece for the player.
