LFR Transmog

The loot rules that are active in the game seem to disagree. If blizz wanted straight ilevel, secondaries, or effect upgrades, they have had more than enough time to correct it.

Except I have to get the upgrade to get the mog and the system prevents me from doing that.

Honestly, it would be less confusing and off-putting than what it is nowā€¦

Weā€™ve been through this before. Logically, transmog is not considered an upgrade according to the loot rules. That theyā€™ve had enough time to correct it (which I agree) is irrelevant, since there are apparently higher priority things to spend time on. Things likeā€¦ fixing shortcuts in dungeons to insta-kill you, recycling content, and drip-feeding brand new hair colors

Yea, itā€™s a poorly designed system. Just saying that whole ā€œilevel is temporary, mog is foreverā€ is a nice pithy saying, but ignores that getting an upgrade also gets you the mog. Iā€™m all for Need/Greed being for the item and Transmog being for the mog. Two separate rolls would make a lot more sense and quell a lot more arguments.

Just give me a way to roll for mog without getting the item, so less people will be upset.

Nee/Greed should show up for everybody as an option, but function like this:

Greed: no change, anybody can roll need.

Need: Up to two winners. If the item is an upgrade for somebody then their Need role has a chance to get them the item (and the appearance by default). A mog ā€œtokenā€ is also given out to another winner of the Need roll that doesnā€™t have the appearance already regardless of weather they could actually use the item or not.

world pvp gear (486 ilvl) acquired by doing world quests and looting a supply crate also converts to lfr and can be upgraded once (1) to unlock normal appearance

Great idea!

yea perfect, if everyone wants the mogā€¦ everyone rolls mog, everyone gets itā€¦

no one has to stress about winning a roll on a sword that hasnā€™t dropped in the past 20 weeks

Would be nice.

For a number of sets this season the LFR color is the superior color.

Im not talking about 486 gear, talking about like 463 world gear , i had some world gear that was 463 and i was able to convert alot of it to tier

Yeah and iā€™m saying that equally easy to acquire gear also converts to lfr and normal tier

Does s1 and s2 gear use up catalyst charges? Iā€™m under the impression that only the current season does (s3).

Yeah thatā€™s how itā€™s supposed to work, i havent tested s1 though

They do not. If you have gear from those seasons to convert, you can convert as many as you have/get a hold of without any impact on your S3 charges.

My humble opinion;

If youā€™ve killed the boss, you unlock all the cosmetics that possibly drop from that said boss.

I hate that the transmog grind is considered as a ā€œendgameā€. I just L O V E to run through trivial raids and dungeons all over again each week for a chance! Uh! Exhilarating gameplay.

Yes, I know. Some casuals might like this and itā€™s something to do. I just cba, but still do it.

Unless itā€™s a specific piece, all you have to do is use the Catalyst thingy to transform into your set.

You can even upgrade pieces to another tint (like, if you start a low ilvl, once you reached 5/8 it changes into another one).

Basically, you can get raid sets without raiding.

You can get LFR tier gear from Dreamsurges and Emerald Dream world content with the catalyst.

i never even worry about that sort of thing tbh. you can use the catalyst on the stuff that drops in ED or even the world boss there for tier pieces. even if you dont use it, you still get the similar quality gear for very easy content. i mainly use lfr for vault drops for things like trinkets and crests and flightstones now
