LFR should share lockout with normal and heroic raids

“Choices” would be the option to do the raid with your guild, do the LFR, or both. If you are in a guild, you don’t have a “choice” other than leaving the guild. Without the restriction, it encourages people to remain in their guilds since people can do what they want.

And how would having the option to do raids cause burnout? Why should others suffer because a small portion of people don’t seem to have the ability to control themselves?

Because the cata classic competitive raiding crowd is huge! I mean, just today I watched RTWF FL… oh wait, this isn’t 2011.

Transmog isn’t a thing anymore apparently. I suppose the “hardcore” people wouldn’t be grateful for the ability to fish for transmogs / missing tier / OS / etc… It would, after all, be their “meaningful choice” on whether they raid with their guild or give them the finger to fish for other gear.

when are you going to stop hiding behind a level 50 and post on your cata main?
Lets break down each of your comments.

  • Meaningful Choices: Sharing a lockout between LFR, normal, and heroic modes does not eliminate choices; it encourages players to make meaningful decisions about which mode they want to participate in each week. This system promotes a more balanced and engaging raiding experience for everyone.
  • Guild Participation: The argument that players would have to leave their guilds to have a choice is not accurate. Sharing a lockout means that players can still participate in guild raids and choose the mode that best suits their schedule and goals. It does not force anyone to leave their guild; rather, it encourages coordination and planning within the guild.
  • Sustainability: Without the restriction, players might feel obligated to run multiple raid modes each week to stay competitive, leading to burnout. Sharing a lockout helps maintain player interest and engagement over the extended period of Dragon Soul content, which will be current until Mists of Pandaria launches in Autumn 2025.

Sharing a lockout helps prevent this by ensuring that players can focus on one mode per week, maintaining a healthier balance between in-game activities and real-life commitments.

It is not about a small portion of people lacking self-control; it is about creating a fair and sustainable environment for all players. By sharing a lockout, this would ensure that everyone has an equal opportunity to participate in raids without feeling pressured to run multiple modes to keep up with others.

Relevance of Competitive Raiding: While the competitive raiding scene may not be as prominent as it was in 2011, maintaining a balanced and engaging raiding experience is still important for the overall health of the game.

Lol you do realize that players who choose to raid heroic every week miss out on obtaining normal loot for transmog. Why should LFR be treated any differently?

That’s one of many reasons normal and heroic shouldn’t share a lockout. If someone wants to do lfr, normal, and heroic the same week let them.

However, that is not the case here, so why should LFR be treated any differently? Especially when we will be doing DS for 6-7 months, the argument about the tier is irrelevant. For example, if Blizzard launches DS in the first week of March and then MoP launches in the second week of September, Dragon Soul would last for 28 weeks. This would be about 6.5Months of DragonSoul. (This is a hypothetical assumption based on Blizzard’s timeline)

This same argument could be made, why should normal and heroic be treated any different than lfr? It’s all subjective. We both would like a change. You want blizzard to baby sit us more than the original game did. I want blizzard to treat us like the adults we are now capable of making choices, not like the children we were when we played the OG. The question really is moot. Blizzard isn’t going to make any change without a strong reason and there’s no strong reason for blizzard to make either change. It wouldn’t increase the money they make from the game and it would require some dev time to do it.

What I really want is for Blizzard to stop catering. If people are unable to clear content or choose to quit and come back, why should they be rewarded? This is what happens when the participation trophy generation makes decisions.

Unless it’s to you.

This statement does not hold water at all based on your push for a change that caters to your preferences and opinions.

Which is hilarious to hear from you on this.

That’s just stupid. Players either complete the heroic or they don’t and doing a normal or lfr the same week doesn’t diminish that accomplishment.

I did it in 2011 when Dragonsoul came out, we ran teams for about a month, we didn’t care about non tier gear we passed on that, we had heroic firelands gear, and the 384 off pieces in LFR didn’t matter, once we got 4pc we quit LFR

LFR was just put on pause and isnt launching with DS.

Lol where is the blue post?

This has got to be one of the best blue posts that was made this year. For cata Classic.

well we can put lfr to rest for now. thank god.

Why? It was merely delayed because they can’t get it to work. 10 man versions were datamined, so they’re obviously trying to make changes to LFR. But since it’s the JV squad working on Classic it doesn’t work right. So it’s delayed for a while.

They could have just implemented it as it was. But these clowns need to put their stamp on everything. Which usually breaks it.

I’m happy about the modern AH UI getting put into the game too but I wouldn’t go that far. :stuck_out_tongue:

Why not?

  1. New AH was good news this stops the scam posts
  2. The team finally fixed the Extra Action button (over a year after they broke it) this was great news.
  3. LFR not being added with DS launch this was AMAZING!!!

You’re just glad that you get to keep whaling for carries.

Yes, for a see-you-en-tee like yourself, I’m sure others being deprived of something brings you GREAT pleasure. You are more pathetic than the failed devs that couldn’t bring LFR functionality to a game that originally had it.

Know one is being deprived of anything the game is remaining how it has been for the last 5 1/2 years.
