LFR raiders: Do you actually enjoy it?

I just tanked every LFR wing of sepulcher for the first time, and that had to be one of the most boring experiences of my time with this game, especially Anduin.

Is the appeal the story? The free gear? At least I can understand running it for the tier right now.

There’s zero mechanics, how is this fun? This is a sincere question.

I really don’t have the time to commit to raiding anymore. So it’s a nice way to see the scenery.

I do it for the Enlightened rep, there’s people doing LFR for fun?

If I was a “casual” (not the correct use but whatever) I could see myself doing it for the gear, and the vault slots… probably intoxicated.

Remember in MoP when we had that dagger to kill ourselves with?

I did an LFR where 19 people killed themselves on pull so they wouldn’t have to play. LFR in a nutshell.

For my little alts I find it fun. I like healing them too. Let’s be honest, healers carry LFR.

I unironically miss that item.

Only thing fun about LFR is dissecting the fights to see what kind of changes Blizz made to make them doable by complete pugs with no coordination. Once that’s done I just see it as a chore.

Occasionally there will be nice tints for transmog, but that’s about it from as far as I can tell. Were there ever any memorable boss fights in LFR? I thought Garrosh Hellscream was pretty fun on LFR, but it was also one of those fights that consistently racked up 10 stacks of Determination.

The last time I did LFR was Nighthold, technically it was Uldir? but only once and I think just 1 boss for a recipe in BFA, I only enjoy LFR when it is mindlessly easy  I don’t know what LFR is like now but in Legion LFR was more difficult than I enjoyed so I just stay out of it :+1:

Not particularly. It just reminds me of the fun I used to have legitimately raiding with friends who long since quit.

I disagree with the general idea that everyone should be able to experience the content, even with zero ability to complete said content.

Some fights should require more than the bare minimum from it’s players to be completed. LFR is just…what even is it?

Oh, and inb4 “Elitism”.

It’s super boring but at least it got me some tier.

There are few mechanics, not zero, but I’m talking as a ranged DPS. I don’t know what the tanking is like. I imagine the tanking is mostly tank swaps and, with a “leet” tank crew, keeping the boss properly turned away. I just wouldn’t count on that. The swapping seems difficult enough.

I have not done the 3rd wing. The current LFR is MOSTLY mechanic free in the large. There’s essentially a “raid wipe” mechanic on the first boss when have the DPS don’t stack when the core explodes. After that, if you can keep up on the adds, you’re in good shape.

If anything, ranged dps is even more boring than the tanking. Sometimes I have to press taunt. Super difficult.

Anduin was definitely the most neutered fight, though. It’s just, wow. Why is it even a fight?

The boss might as well just fall over after the first person tags it. This isn’t content.

Trying to figure out why anyone is responding seriously to such an obvious bait thread.

It’s not bait just because you don’t like it.

You’re free to go away.

I treat it as a more in-depth target dummy for dps. Its also an ok place to practice raid healing since the lesser damage from mechanics is counteracted by no one doing them creating a decent environment for big healing. I would never tank lfr though, most of the difficulty comes down to the dice roll of your co tank.

You don’t have to do it if you don’t want to. Feel free to not queue.

No it isn’t.

Is it bait though? Because I actually agree with the OP’s premise. LFR is incredibly dull and needing to do it for tier… yikers. I’ll probably literally just not do it again now that I have 2-pc and just wait for Creation Catalyst because I don’t want to run it again for a 10% chance at shoulder (no way in heck I’m doing a whole LFR wing just for 10% shot).

Really just the swaps and grab some adds. People in LFR stand wherever they feel like, so no point in positioning most of the time. Wing 3 is literally zug zug everything down while watching Netflix it’s so easy.
