LFR raiders: Do you actually enjoy it?

So, you just stood still for the entire fight of Halondrus? Let me guess you died right?

When I was younger my sister liked to play with dolls. I read and played guitar. To this day she has no idea why I play guitar. So…. She doesn’t do it. Simple as. Once creation catalyst comes out there will be no real reason for this crying though it’ll continue. Because it has a cd. “Forced” “brain dead” we’ve seen it all before. Yawn.

The threads are gonna be fun when the geared folks stop doing LFR next week and stuff stops melting

The trick for the tier is to bring your same-tier friends along for the torture on a tuesday. Usually your only window to get quick, relatively clean clear speeds.

It’s funny to me how some people don’t understand how people could genuinely find LFR boring, though. Maybe my memory is skewed, but wasn’t it still somewhat challenging in MoP? I remember quite a few durumu wipes on my alts back then.

You’re clearly baiting if you find the raid with zero mechanics boring, and ask why people enjoy it. Apparently.

I’ve had so many where there were partial guild groups intentionally trolling to get everyone killed and then snarking at people. Once that goes away it’ll be more fun for the intended audience I imagine.

That’s no fun. Luckily I’ve not run into that yet

Frankly, I was surprised they even kept the moving phase.

Half the raid still died, though.

it’s okay but never do it just trying to get tier cause as it sits i took a break and can rarely get invited to a 2 lol. the gating in zereth is funny you can only farm so many cyphers to eventually get 252 but it will come and i can ignore lfr again.

Nothing does any damage. What are you healing?

sometimes you don’t even need to do the swap. I’ve done fights in LFR where the other tank just sort of didn’t bother taunting off me and just held it the entire fight.

Details shows you who does what. And yeah. :man_facepalming:

Yeah, given my current jank gear, it gets a little dicey on some. Worst case bi just bubble and hope I get the boss back before too many chads have died

I tanked skolex with it, and even with whispers and /rw the co-tank never taunted on riftmaw… at least we had lots of brezes

lfr would be fine if people wasn’t queing offspecs to get quicker ques and having no idea. i haven’t seen no one hardly die in there though it’s usually just a quick blast thru but every once in awhile you know the story.

I’ve never done Normal Raids yet (as I am Casual… currently focusing on M+). I prefer to do it on LFR first… learn its mechanics then do Normal without dying since I have practiced it on LFR.

Remember Nzoth in BFA? I cant beat that freaking Boss in Normal. What I did is I did series of repeated LFR runs even without getting a loot just to practice the mechanics… my goal was just not to die until the very end. After some practices, I went back to Normal and was able to beat it. When I went to Heroic Nzoth, I was already eating that Boss for breakfast. It happened all becoz of my practice on LFR. FYI, I dont want to practice on Normal or Heroic. On LFR, I can do all my experimentations without getting repercussions. On Normal and Heroic, I could get KICKED right away. GG.

If you’re ever unfortunate enough to have to do LFR for tier, make sure to try and get it over with on reset day. That’s when most of the raiders are running it for a shot before/after their main run.

Okay, but my problem with this otherwise sound logic is that the mechanics are mostly removed, so there’s no real practice.

You get a very basic idea of how the boss arena is, I guess? But most of the mechanics that will wipe you are gone.

Xymox without rings isn’t even a fight. Anduin without the downstairs phase doesn’t prepare you for that fight at all.

MoP LFR was genuinely enjoyable. I looked forward to it every week.
WoD LFR was meh.
Legion was fine.

BFA and SL has been miserable though.

Nobody likes it, obviously. They just do it for the freebie gear.

The proof is in the old LFRs dying instantly. 3-4 hour Nathria queues, etc.

?

I literally said I’m not going to do it. How do you interpret that as crying?

Tanking raids is already a fairly boring experience. You stand, you taunt, you don’t die. LFR removes the don’t die part, and in many cases, the don’t die is so small of an issue you can ignore your active mitigation and be fine.

Even in normal/heroic raiding, tanking puts me to sleep. Tanking is only really fun in M+
