Blizzard has some serious work to do when it comes to the LFR loot system. I’m absolutely sick and tired of having to deal with people that are overgeared and rolling on items that are lower than what they currently have equipped and they end up winning them anyway.
Just today I had to deal with someone coming in with 600+ gear rolling on 584 gear for transmog and he ended up winning two pieces. Where I’m trying to go past 570+ gear to get my item level up. You try to ask these people nicely if they would be willing to part with it, or trade and they either ignore you, or you just get berated by the entire raid by strangers for trying to make a point.
This seems to have been the case for the past few seasons where you can basically roll on anything even if you don’t need it. I was under the impression that previously if you had a piece of gear drop and it was lower than what you had equipped for that slot, you were not allowed to roll need, only transmog roll for it. But that does not seem to be the current situation and it’s become quite a pain. Not to mention how utterly rude, mean, and hateful the majority of the people that run LFR tend to be.
LFR in TWW: only use it to experience content quickly or burn time.
NEVER win rolls, get worse items: item which turns into usable soulbound item is copy of current item or lower ilvl substitute. Everyone who has all day to play says go do WQ or buy loot through AH. Raid & M+ community tries to sabotage delve loot… gg
Heroic dungeons, Delves, Renown gear will all get you on par or better than LFR.
Anyone who uses LFR as a serious way to gear is just asking for disappointment.
That being said…
Transmog roll should just be for the appearance in your collections and let the Need/Greed roll be the actual gear piece. That way, someone gets the gear piece and people who want it for transmog also get the transmog.
No dude. Everyone who helps kill the boss deserves equal shot at whatever drops if it’s for their class.
ilvl is not more important than transmog. that skin might be something that player uses often for years. ilvl is replaced in days or weeks.
You are not more entitled than other players to get loot just because you queue in with lower ilvl. if that were the case then everyone is incentivized to bring their absolutely trashiest geared character.
But then people who don’t deserve loot might randomly get it, while geared transmog hunters would no longer be able to win multiple pieces of gear off each boss.
I think players are allowed to expect that player progression > player appearance.
Go back to PL where the loot is yours (so those filthy Enchanters can DE without rolling against someone to do it), or do the solution of the transmog roll is separate from the loot roll.
If the loot is separate from transmog then Blizzard could also bring better clarity to what exactly people can need on. If you have a higher ilvl piece than what dropped (assuming they aren’t on the same track), then you can’t roll need. I don’t see how that’s a bad thing, specifically for LFR
You were under the wrong impression then. GL only prevents you from rolling on in the exact same item. And even then you are still able to roll need if the item has different stats of tertiary stats.
