Every time I queue to LFR people always going AFK or 40% of the players just spamming 1 ability.
There are times everyone wipes in the same boss 4-7 times!

Do normal? Normal pugs are way easier than LFR. LFR needs to be solo story mode with no gear. Johnny Awesome can tank.

I did an LFR Crucible over the weekend and watched the group get trolled through five one shots by the tank with the Trident. Only two pulls lasting long enough for Determination stacks. It was comical.

I came back recently and decided to gear up a bit there.
Spent over 2 hours in 1 LFR. it was ridiculous.
LFR is a cesspool. You’ll have better luck in a normal.

It’s a necessary evil, unfortunately. It has to be easy enough to be cleared with a group of idiots. We’ve seen what happens when they try to make LFR more difficult and it didn’t go well.
As much as I wish it would be more like FF14 where people have to actually contribute or you wipe, it can’t happen with this playerbase anymore.

Ever since most queuable content became more or less worthless to anyone who touches m+ / raiding the quality of groups seems to have massively dropped. Not really sure what blizzard can do about it beyond incentivizing those players to come back which seems to invite its own problems really.
Blizzard needs to change LFR completely.
make it fun again.

you havent experienced all the players just standing around?
By the time the tanks pull they all dead from mechanics.
How is it dead it seems like business as usual.

Yup. Because there is no motivation for the players to do well. Everyone there is just watching netflix while the raid is going on. In Legion it was much better because the possibility of getting legendaries was there so high end raiders would join. Also making alts in legion was much more rewarding so people would do that also. Bfa is garbage and they are giving us more of the garbage in 8.3. So get used to it.

I’m not going to sing praises for LFR, but my bad experiences with it have never been anywhere close to as bad as what the OP is talking about.
Maybe I’m just lucky or the OP is just unlucky? /shrug

Personally, I think Blizzard needs to get rid of LFR, LFG, and Group Finder.
With Classic out now, and having been reminded of what grouping use to be like once more through personal experience, its opened my eyes to just how detrimental it is to community and just how much it takes away from the game.
I use to defend the system for those that liked it but after having experienced Vanilla once more its like a sickening revelation just how much these systems have truly chipped away from the game over the years.
And this isnt a “Classic is better than Retail” post as I would argue Retail does most things better than Classic. The one major takeaway I have had from Classic however is just how much our automated grouping systems have stripped away from the game.
Its time to rip the bandaid off from the festering wound that is LFG/LFR/Group Finder, cut out the corrupted flesh, and begin the rough process of healing because there is certainly going to be a section of the community that will go kicking and screaming the entire way because they can not get their free, easy, afk loot anymore.
My opinion, mind you.

I totally agree!
Playing classic once again i loved every moment of it.
People begging to party with them to kill something, or help clearing an area.
Dungeons, raids and pvp ganks.
In retail you dont see any of that.
everything is LFG, LFG, LFG and never speak to each other.
then everyone wonders why wow kinda boring now.
Is because there’s no motivation to do things as a team anymore.

What about removing it since Normal pugs are way more consistent, rewarding and fun, and also way more social.
LFR is a waste of developer’s time and resources, and it hindered social aspects of the game more than anything.

That is absolutely not how ffxiv LFR works. Its just as braindead as WoW.
