As you will see in a previous post, I don’t claim it is “gatekeeping” by others if they are selective in who they chose, so there goes that.
I’ve also been playing since 2006 and you’re wrong. There were dps wait times that were 45 minutes plus. Blizzard tried to solve this by sweetening the deal with tank bags and whatnot.
It’s also irrelevant because the same issue would happen today in wrath classic if there is an imbalance in the ratio of tank:heals:dps.
Solutions are always:
-Play with friends
-Play with a guild
-Form your own group
-Try another spec
Any combination of those things would help.
I don’t understand what your problem is then. You have the ideal situation where you have a guild of IRL friends and you don’t even need any of these group forming tools, but yet you’re complaining about those tools nevertheless.
We will agree to disagree then, because my experience was waiting about 15 min ish as dps for all those years back in wrath, cata and mop.
I do agree with this as part of the solution but why take away options for others? I eman having more otions is good when it comes to dunegons. Now I am not a supporter of LFR what so ever but we are talking about dungeons.
It’s not a me problem, it’s having empathy for those not in my situation. I consider the players that have limited time and various other reason that are having issues. I am advocating to give them more options versus the guy that wants to say, “No, I don’t like it even if you do, so you can’t have that option cause I want you to play my way”

Honestly, there was probably people trolling LFG chat with stuff like “LFM ABC dungeon must be Sunwell geared” and that’s what sparked the threads about gatekeeping and elitism on day one of wrath classic, as if this was some huge issue.
Now the people who are still complaining about forming groups are people like you who are already forming successful groups amongst friends and guildies. 
We probably agree their usage of the word is incorrect but we both know what they mean by using the word “gatekeeping”. That word is a just a sums all word that is thrown around to easy.
I am not complaining about forming groups. I am complaining about others limiting choices for players because of something they do not like and in my opion has zero effect on their game play.
Then I have no idea what they mean when they use that word if they’re not using it correctly.
The meaning is relevant to the players using it I would guess. Some using it is probably to the reference you refered about must be xxx geared for this. Others probably view it as limiting choices, or the ones that do get invited and get the boot shorlty after whereas in RDF it takes 3 to vote kick and all my years I have not seen many be kicked.
In real life I would understand advocating for people who might not have a “voice”, but in videogame Warcraft land I’d say let’s let people speak up for themselves about their dungeon problems.
Every player has equal access to the forums just like they have equal access to in game tools to make friends, join guilds, form groups, use LFG.
This is a waste of time if the only people talking about ”problems” with LFG are people who are successfully using the tool to form groups.
They do and they are yet so many anti-rdf players do their very best at squashing that players experiences.
If you go through and read all these posts you will find a vast majoirty are saying they want RDF and reasons why.
What you think is a waste of time can only be refered to yourself as it is your time. I am retired and have all the time in the world and feel my time is not wasted by advocating for RDF when I am bored and drinking my coffee and visit the forums.
LFG is great. I gatekeep any person with ‘Big D DPS’ or ‘T6’ or ‘geared’ in thier group comment because I’m not gonna add sweatbags on simple, braindead leveling dungeons.

That’s great, but it’s a waste of time to advocate for people who complain about “gatekeeping” and refuse to use the same tools everyone else is using.
The LFG system is pretty bad.
Ive seen groups that have 2-4 tanks listed. Seen people listed as tank sit there longer than anyone would have sat in a RDF queue as a DPS. I only really see people listing themselfs in LFG to promote their group in the chat. Listing myself as a tank in the tool hasnt gotten me a single dungeon, seeing someone looking for tanks in the LFG chat has.
Or they just want to play the game and not spend that effort on looking for a group instead.
I would rather spend my time mining and looking at LFG chat or in RDF tool than actually using the LFG tool and listing myself.
If the outcome in the same, then its just to waste peoples time. Waiting longer for the same outcome is just taking longer to take longer. Again I would rather be out there mining, collecting relics, doing dailies while I look at the chat or in RDF queue than going through the buggy crappy LFG system. No one is actually using it outside of being able to post in LFG chat.
Heroics are the thing right now but its going to lose interest fast outside of whatever the dailies are.
It’s just easier and we don’t need easier. The game is easy enough as is.
PS - used it while leveling and did like 10 dungeons over the weekend before raids.

Not easier. Easier would imply that the the activity would become less challenging. Regardless if you form a 5 man group through chat or RDF thew difficulty will be the EXACT same.
This doesn’t make logical sense.
If I think you, (a person who says they run a guild and regularly form successful dungeon groups even with only 4 people) is wasting their time complaining about LFG on the forums on behalf of others, then I shouldn’t be against RDF?

Enjoy what? The LFG tool that doesn’t work? At least when it was just a LFG channel I had the expectation that I had to spam in chat for a group.
