It is nearly impossible to find a normal heroic group thanks to heroic +. No one reads notes in your listing and auto invites you to heroic + non-stop.
My under 2900 GS DK gets constantly invited to Heroic + when I specifically say in my listing note I DO NOT WANT heroic +. Then my listing gets cancelled and I have to relist. It is so frustrating.
Or you invite someone and tell them it’s for normal heroic, then they ask 5 min later if it’s heroic + and then leave, after you had already told them it’s not.
MAKE SEPARATE GROUPS for heroic and heroic + in the LFG tool already.
Why are you fixing minor game bugs when LFG is so incredibly broken and useless at the moment???
You are going to make people quit the game when they can’t gear up their alts because this is going to be a major roadblock for many people. It was so bad I decided to just get PVP gear instead. After hours of waiting in LFG on a massive server I couldn’t find a normal heroic group.
FIX LFG and make HEROIC + a separate Category!!! You have separate categories for holiday dungeons. You can make a separate one for Heroic +.
They can, but they don’t want to, in the interest of nurturing and protecting social experiences. And it’ll get even more better next tier, when you have 4 difficulties to choose from! They could update the UI and let you set a title for your group that’s visible without mousing over a listing, like this https://i.imgur.com/1pVMbaT.png. But, that too would take away from their social experiences pillar.
I understand you’re upset but you’re taking it out on the wrong person. @Depressing gave you a very informative response, on his/her own time and with the respect that you failed to show him/her in return.
In all honesty I’m more inclined to believe that your lack of ability to group with like minded players has more to do with you, your attitude and the way you choose to communicate with people than the interface. Basically what we’ve learned here is that you are an antisocial person, which is fine. If you don’t want to communicate with other players, that’s one thing, but to antagonize the way you do will be the reason you are continually left out of groups.
If you’re trying to tank or heal, I can see why this isn’t ideal, but it’s not like you’re leaving your spot in a queue. You just have to click 1 button. And if you’re a DPS, why wouldn’t you want to do Heroic+? People are plenty geared enough at this point that people can be carried easily.
Either way, I don’t see this as being a terrible thing.
This is why you should whisper people before you invite. Whisper them asking “DPS Normal Heroic [x dungeon]?” and wait for a response. Then you’re way less likely to have misunderstandings.
I disagree. Heroic+ is easy enough now that it’s the “default” way to do dungeons. Splitting them into different listings would only fracture the population.
It seems like it’s mostly working as intended. Except sometimes when I list myself, I can’t browse listings. Or sometimes people have an issue where they’re automatically set to a role they don’t have the spec/desire to play.
Just make sure to over communicate. Sounds like you are easily detoured. It’s happened to me many times on my shaman I just start over again no big deal. H+ aren’t even that hard and you get extra loot why wouldn’t you want to do it?

Having to relist over and over because you keep getting invited to groups for content you are not trying to do is really annoying. I can’t think of any reason whatsoever that H+ and normal heroic should not be separated in the tool.
Or the tool could just like, have the difficulties separated like it does for normal and heroic.
Wut. People want to do one or the other. Being forced to list for both makes no sense.
Are you going to carry his DK alt? Because I’m not. Good luck getting into any heroic+ pug as a fresh 80.
I think this is maybe unlikely due to it being the same instance. But,
I’ve found that whenever I form groups, I always whisper people before inviting them, and just decline any requests to be invited by anyone who hasn’t whispered me first. That works well for me, but I only started doing that after being frustrated for mostly all the same reasons you’ve pointed out above.
Automating invites seems to be more bothersome than it’s worth.
Like I said, I get it’s annoying, but I think that separating listings across 3 different difficulties would potentially (indirectly) cause more problems than it would fix.
But Heroic+ is basically the norm now. The main distinction between Normal and Heroic is mostly that they’re for entirely different character levels.
The distinction between Heroic and Heroic+ is simply gear/a tiny bit of added difficulty, and it’s diminishing with each passing day. Eventually, when more people are in P2+ gear, this distinction will probably become almost unnoticeable.
I would. I honestly don’t care. As long as someone is contributing roughly up to par with whatever gear they’re wearing, and they’re at least making some effort, I see no issue with it. Heroic+ is not difficult, with a couple exceptions here and there.
I seriously can’t imagine how insecure people must be to check gear score for heroic but with some more health and stuff to watch out for on the ground…
Some people have crazy requirements too. Listed myself for Utgarde Pinnacle as a prot pally, got whispered from a person what my gs is. I replied 4.2k, and they didn’t reply. Just formed my own group after that.
Next phase it’ll be 4 or 5 difficulties though, and I’m guessing 5 or 7 in the final phase. In the interview I linked earlier they said they plan on adding Defense Matrix Beta with Ulduar 10 drops, and possibly a Defense Matrix Beta Hardmode difficulty, with Uld 10 hardmode loot.
If they add a field for group titles that doesn’t require a mouse over to read and a search feature, it’d go a decent way towards letting people find the difficulty they’re interested in imo. That’s how they currently handle it for Mythic+, you can just search for 4, or 15, or whatever difficulty you’re interested in running.
