So not only are tanks in short supply, but people are being waaaay to picky about the tanks they invite to groups. Everyone is too use to EZ-modeing it with paladin tanks. I see 3 groups LF a tank for Heroic SP. I whisper all 3 groups, 1 of them flat out told me they want a pally tank, and the other 2 just ignored me, and continued to Look for a tank.
Yes… my druid can’t hold aggro against 10+ mobs at a time. I hope you have you have to look for the next 2 hours.
And that they will. Probably saved yourself trouble with people with that mindset.
Cant say I’ve ever ran into this since on my feral tank I start my own groups exclusively if it’s outside the guild
I love me some bears. The…. bears! Warriors are great too. Who would want to run with picky snobs anyway?
Hate to say it, but I sort of understand and am okay with it.
I wouldn’t want to tank for groups where it’s a spellcleave that’s going to be ripping aggro in a multi-mob pull.
So it’s fine imo for them to only be looking for Pally tanks. Just is what it is; pallys have such a big advantage on AOE packs and for spellcleave groups especially.
Meta slaves going to be meta slaves. I don’t care what class tanks as long as we get one in our group.

I pick my tank based on the dungeon.
Don’t need a pally tank for HSP or mech, wouldn’t even consider doing shattered halls or slabs without one.
If people want a pally tank thats completely fine there is so many groups wanting a tank if you cant find a group as a tank in short order the issue is likly you having gotten a bad rep on that server or your guild has.
Sure the odd group will decline based on class but it is far from the norm and making a group as a tank you have one within minutes esp if talking about the heroic dailly.
If it gets bad enough people will start selling tanking services. I did once I siphoned my healing and tanking bis from dungeons in classic, how I got my epic mount. I made my own groups, but if I see someone spamming for a tank for a long time I’ll make an offer, maybe they say no now, but an hour of silence makes a bis tank look pretty good.
They already are. I put those idiots on ignore since it’s not a behavior that should be encouraged in the tanking community, but I do respect people’s right to free enterprise. I am kind of torn between my hatred for tanks who charge to tank, and dps mouth breathers having to part with their gold.

I’d get flamed sometimes, but more often I’d get whispers from people asking for my ‘service’ without even advertising it, the demand was real. It never felt like extortion, hard to feel bad about it when everyone comes away from the arrangement happy.
If more people did it they would have to make prices competitive which benefits the consumers- but I don’t need to explain the basics of supply and demand.
If you’re a tank, I think you’re better off forming your own groups. Get the comps you prefer. And certainly don’t be lead by a DPS.
Even if your Druid can’t hold threat against ten mobs.
I’ll be tanking six mobs on my paladin cringing as the third cast goes uninterrupted. Paladins aren’t all sunshine and rainbows. I feel so useless.
I don’t care what spec you are as long as you don’t stack Stamina. Any time I see a tank with gems like that, I just equip a shield because I know I’ll be tanking instead with how terrible their threat is and how much healing I have to do because their avoidance is terrible.

Then your tanks you got must have been terrible because stamina is really good for tank, of course if your tank doesnt have expertise or hit a bit, he will lose aggro sometime but honestly i did around 25 heroics and its was always ok for me
It objectively isn’t. Any tank stacking Stamina is a noob.
If you’re stacking stamina, you don’t have a lot of expertise or hit. Even in full best in slot threat gear, you have to gem hit to reach cap. Even more so if you lack a Balance Druid in the party.
You going to swap pieces if you are not tanking a raid becuz you can lower a bit your defense skill (i use the expertise sword, the exalted ring lower city + leg for expertise, for hit i usually up to 7-8% with the hit food buff,) i must say that im pretty good with this 99% time.
Rule of thumb it always depend of the fight(in raid as gruul by exemple where stamina is important if dps is low a bit) so i jungle lot with my pieces
