I’m still pretty new to the server, so I don’t have many connections that can point me in the right direction toward a guild that fits what I’m after. I thought I’d make a post here on the forums and see if that brings me some luck.
I’m interested in an active adventure/military themed RP guild, maybe something d20, but with the caveat that I’d like to maintain my character’s military rank of Master Sergeant. I’m not saying that I want to join a guild as a high rank within their numbers. I understand that it makes sense to start as a new recruit or whatever, but I’ve found many guilds follow a formal ranking structure and I’d rather not demote Skott all the way to a private.
If you know of a guild that fits this description, let me know! I’m eager to contribute my all toward helping a guild flourish.
Blackhand Battalion sounds like it would be right up your alley. However, they’re Horde, not Alliance. I’m sure they could use a competent soldier though.

Ah, well, I’m an Alliance player. Don’t have much interest in the Horde. Thanks for the idea though!
The Storm Glaive is recruiting – we’re not military but we do have the action/adventure part and we do sometimes fight the Horde. Our guild ranking structure is just Trader, Researcher, Marine, or Explorer on entry, and then either Adventurer or Specialist if you rank up. After that you get into the actual guild officer ranks. You could join in one of those first broad categories (Trader etc) and maintain the Master Sergeant rank as your character’s rank in a different military organization and be traveling with us for reasons. While I could certainly be extraordinarily wrong, the one thing you might not be able to get out of most guilds is that particular rank request. In most cases, you might have to start from zero-- But, really, don’t let this deter you! Your experience is really what you make it to be, and I’m sure you can find something that maintains that particular fantasy for you.
That said, the guild that immediately comes to mind is the < First Regiment >. Fantastic guild, one of the old boys on the server when it comes to Alliance military-esque experiences.
If you’re looking for something a little more nationalistic, I would recommend the < League of Lordaeron > for much the same reasons as the first, along with < The Citrine Eagle > (Alterac based), < Kul Tiras Marine Corps >, and the < Blades of Greymane >.
I could definitely go on, but to be frank, I would earnestly recommend you just take a little cruise around Stormwind and look at a few guild names; there are military/adventure guilds allllllll~ over the place with different concepts and cultures that may or may not speak more to the experience you’re envisioning.
