Leveling is such a joke

This is figuratively speaking, not literal.

The thing is though, for as much as they talk about it, much of the classic community doesnt even want this “Journey focused adventure”

Classic is completely overrun by bots, RMT, level boosts, summoning services. Even among players who aren’t swiping their cards, many people are just running spell cleave comps to power level through dungeons.

As much as they like to say how much they love the grind, they certainly go through a lot of effort to circumvent it at every turn.

Most have.
But thus is the cycle of WoW.
Leveling needs to be removed from retail as it means jack all. Stuff scales with you and they scale stuff every patch. So whats the point of better gear and leveling if everything scales with you?

Classic is a better RPG
Retail is good for the low effort/quick content.

WOW hasn’t been about the journey since “The Burning Crusade” was released. For most of its existence, it has been about the power plays during the max level cycles.

Even today, the only game mode that is about the Journey is Classic Hardcore.

Classic HC for the “dangerous journey”, Retail for the endgame stuff.

It’s nice they’re both on one sub.

The player base has something to do with this. There’s a reason why a majority of the dungeons are “go, go, go”.

After tying classic its absolutely ridiculous how LONG and boring the leveling grind is in classic.

Kill 1 mob sit eat and drink
Kill another sit drink and eat
Pull 2 ya die.
RUn back sit eat and drink

Yeah that sounds like so much more fun.

And in other news now the OP is complaining that it’s to simple to send a text message and wants his old telegraph system reinstalled. OP states that on one gets to feel the rush of not knowing if a message was actually sent or received.

Retail is an ARPG, Classic is not.
They’re not the same game, they’re not even the same genre. But we have two versions of the game, I prefer retail because I like the quick pace combat system, everyone is happy.

I don’t think WoW would be listed as a ARPG anywhere. Outside of social media/forums.

Do me a favor, Google “Is WoW an ARPG” and see the first AI answer that pops up.

Dang. We citing AI as our sources?

Google “is WoW not an ARPG”.

The AI also says it’s not

Yes well, I think that’s OP’s point. It’s not centered around leveling anymore.

And to be frank, I don’t think the game was ever centered around any one facet of the game. It just had various avenues of play for different people, all of which felt good. That’s not exactly applicable to today’s game, which has dramatically shifted all its eggs into endgame content.

Where do you think AI gets its answers?

Why does the AI agree with me when I ask " is WoW not an ARPG ?"

Also…why is it unable to count the letter R in the word strawberry

Bro are you just here to argue?
Christ

Explain?

I love wow you changed the search to manipulate your answer

Also, Retail is a lot like Diablo 4

Don’t you understand, OP? People are tired of leveling because they’ve done it a hundred times.

The real journey happens at max level. Where you chase a timer in dungeons that 50% of the time you’ve already done a hundred times. By S2 that 50% goes up to 100%.
