So is blizzard going to add an increase to experience gain when outlands is released and the lvl cap is raised? I’ve seen a few people talking about blizzard made it about 30% easier to lvl up during original TBC, is that true?
Yes it kicks in after level 20. plus elite quests were changed to normal group quests that can be soloed easier. (not all but most)
edit: it was added in prepatch not TBC proper
The 30% was for 1-60, I believe, as a catch up mechanic. I don’t think it applies to 60-70. If so, 60-70 will take longer than 50-60 took originally. And there will be elite mobs and elite quests in Outland.
Is it after lv20? I made a belf and got to lv10 rather quickly while playing super casually…
I got to level 10 in 5 hours on 3 characters, two being HPriest and Hpal as oppose to Classic which took over 10+ with a friend. They boosted it at the start it seems and I ain’t complaining!
Oh, I’m not either, I love it! I just hope when I get to lv 40 it doesn’t drag on forever like it did in Classic.
There are alot more quests than I remember in classic which almost doubles exp per hour
They did add in a few quest hubs in TBC
They added the new race quests, increased xp per kill, and per quest. They reduced xp required for levels 10-60 by 30%. They also added a few new flight points. Overall, you should be able to level 50% faster or better.
edit: typo
As far as I am aware the xp boost only applies from 10 - 60.
Correct.
Blizzard has not changed the 60-70 stretch from original TBC. It is 6.6 MILLION experience. At a brisk pace of 100,000exp/hr it will take you ~66 hours of playtime to hit 70. Some people will do it in 40. A lot of people will do it in 100. And none of that is even counting server instability, competition, world PvP etc.
TBC is the longest expansion leveling stretch of any expansion ever released. Buckle up.
For players who enjoy leveling – YAY!
