Currently leveling a brand new alt sham, using RestedXP and solely questing, 11 hours in im only lvl24. This is exhausting specially with how much I HATE questing. Does anyone know of a faster method or anything that would help? Anything is appreciated, thanks.
Nope. PvP is slow exp, and mob grinding sucks too compared to simply questing. Could try dungeons, but it won’t be as fast either due to the logistics involved, like actually finding players and getting there. I’m in the same boat, I just boosted to 58, did AV all the way until 79 so far. Got half a level to go, and it’s taken quite a while.
Another thread on this topic. Keep it up. This needs attention. Leveling alts shouldn’t be this painful.
Weekend PvP mode gives decent xp, I got from 44-51 yesterday on my Ret alt with a combination of weekend wsg + questing in about 6 hours (with looms)
Which is still just insane. You have to put that much time in a single day to get a handful of levels in the middle of the leveling journey? People are not going to level alts in that reality.
Yes. Grind out heirlooms, you get 20% more xp, use the free version of Zygor. When going into an area do not follow the guide exactly. Pick up every single quest you can and do them all. Pay attention to the location of the quests and distances. This will cut down on a lot of walking/riding down time.
I’m leveling a ret right now and it took me on average 20-27mins per level in the 20s.
Also a non starter for the majority of players. People shouldn’t have to approach leveling like a sniper to min/max their way to the top. It just shouldn’t take that long. Period. Let people level tons of alts really easily. It will benefit all of us greatly, especially as the launch moves through the later cycles.
You don’t have to do it in one day, it was just a lazy Sunday
You need to change your mind set
The game exists from 1-80, stop rushing to 80 and maybe you’ll enjoy yourself
Unfortunately, that is also just not true. The game is at level 80. That is how most people approach and play the game. Blizzard knows this. The playerbase knows this. Address the situation and make it better.
You have retail for ultra leveling speed. I’m normally one for QoL improvements but this is one I wouldn’t want to see change. Slower leveling gives players more of an opportunity to learn the class and spec. Full heirloom gear makes a huge difference in speed.
Like others have mentioned, get the heirlooms. It’ll make things go faster. Also, are you Alliance? From my experience, the early levels as Alliance are simply slower than Horde. Lots of flying from Loch Modan to Westfall/Redridge, then flying from Wetlands to Duskwood, then STV to Southshore. Alliance has to do way more moving around than Horde for the first 30 or so levels. And unfortunately, there won’t be many, if any dungeon groups to smooth this out. While I can’t say it’ll get “faster”, at least you should start getting more abilities so it won’t feel as slow.
Yeah man, it sure exists.
Questing solo playing completely on your own from 1-80.
I think if people wanted to play a single player RPG there’s better options out there.
I’ve been playing this game for 15 years now. I’ve gotten explorer and loremaster a few times over. I’ve done every class at least three times. There is nothing I haven’t seen already and nothing new to discover. I just want to hit max to play with other people instead of finding 10 water vials and kill 12 razorfen sages.
The magic left a long time ago.
Thanks for the tips y’all. I have been running x2 looms since lvl1, its made it faster but not anything insane. I guess i’ll mentalize myself to just do the same questing thing for the next 120 hours while i slowly die on the inside
most accurate thing ever ^
Its not 2008 anymore, the game isn’t played the same way it used to, and the 1-80 journey isn’t much of a journey right now but an insane chore and pre-requisite to start playing the game.
You’re in luck, when Cata classic launches leveling gets massively condensed to be much faster and they greatly reduce the travel time between quests.
It really caters to the players who want insta level capped alts.
And wrath had RDF which made levelling alts just that much nicer.
Evidently, we don’t have that.
While on one hand I did and would enjoy the revamped cata leveling, you couldn’t pay me to anything once I hit the leveling cap.
RDF should be a part of Wrath since it came out in Wrath I agree even if it didn’t launch until over a year into the expansion.
Blizzard has made too many changes as it is, hopefully they don’t make more.
7 levels in 6 hours is not insane? are you expecting to hit 80 in 2 days? if so you’re playing the wrong game
you can do dungeons or just grind xp in the farming grounds of the open world if you don’t want questing.
