So TLDR: You are weaker as you level and you are getting weaker again in the Shadowlands!
Here’s a post that shows level 70s easily bursting down level 110s
This should scare but if that doesn’t scare you enoguh here’s more
In this video you will find a less known streamer shadow priest completely obliterating max level characters thanks to two things BFA gear being better and PVP scaling. With scaling essentially reduced the damage he does to them and increases the damage he does to them.
So what’s the problem? Why I am upset? Because I’m tired of invislble systems at play completely hiding how strong my character is. When I play wow I should be 100% positive that my character is getting better as I level and get gear but that is not true at all in every case.
What can you do? Do as I have calmly and respectfully ask our lead WOW Dev Iov here https://twitter.com/WatcherDev to remove invisble systems in PVP so we don’t have to deal with gearing up makes you weaker and leveling makes you weaker.
No actually as I stated I believe it is an issue when we become increasingly weaker as we level and gear up. I didn’t mention beating down on low levels once? I’m going to assume you’re just not a pvp member which I respect I just wish you would stay in your lane as they say.
there’s a serious issue… why every single expansion they have to be constantly squishing numbers though? they are clearly running out of space and people might have to get used to see big numbers as much as they don’t like them.
The whole post is about the power difference between different leveled characters. The only time this would really matter is duels (which can just be done against same-leveled players) or WPvP (which if you’re a higher level attacking a lower level you are just trying to get an easy gank).
There’s also the issue that, with this scaling in mind, the video is pitting an endgame BFA character with a starting-tier epics SL character, the former having huge stat values and the latter having low stat values (as is usual with any expansion). I doubt and endgame SL gear player would have the same trouble.
Not to mention this whole scenario will dissipate on its own as players level their endgame BFA characters. So, essentially, you are upset that you won’t be able to easily gank lower level players at least for the early part of the expansion.
Well I’ll just say I’m one of the odd ducks when leveling scaling first was introduce that was against it. I actually LIKED when zones had level ranges. Sure its easier to level now and 100% more convenient, but why does EVERYTHING have to be more convenient all the time. It just feels weird to me.
I liked level ranges in zones for a couple reasons, first it was a sort of population control. Since you would be nuts to bring your level 20 character into a level 50 zone that meant LESS players were in that zone so it wasn’t so crowded. Now with scaling, well it scales – so more people crowding the same zones.
Then it was just a little progression gauge that felt cool. “Nice I made it to [Name of Zone with a high level range]…so this is what this zone is like” (well that works only for the first play through).
Finally – it made the fictional world seem more realistic to me. I mean there’s varying levels of danger in the real world depending where you go. Some woods have cougars and bears, some don’t as a simple example. (Some have sasquatch too! – level 500 zones!)
But seriously it’s more immersive that level 10 timmy can fair OK in some zones but not in others, versus …level 10 timmy just adapts to fair well in any zone.
But hey whatever, the game is the game – I still play it.
Hello! Thank you for your post! You’re doing what is called an ad homminen fallacy you’re trying to attack my character instead of the argument. Let me put this as simply as possible for you so you can try to generate an opinion on this matter.
You’re trying to tell me blizzard will just let this fly at just the early part of the expansion give me a break sister. Also thanks for talking all high and mighty I really appreciate t.
Please reply with an argument that is not just trying to attack this imaginary perception you have of me.
I mean your argument is exactly as you’ve posted: A high level player should be stronger in PvP. The only benefit this allows is ganking. No level 120 is fighting a 110 for a fair fight. No level 60 is fighting a 50 for a fair fight. I’m just saying what you are implying. I don’t care who or what you are, your argument is what I’ve pointed out. Otherwise this would not matter to you.
The point of PvP scaling is to remove the level from the equation in PvP situations to allow for more fair fights for people getting ganked by “WPvPers.” If it puts a level 50 at roughly the same level as a level 60, then the difference is gear. And if one is endgame geared and one is pre-raid epics, which makes more sense to win?
I will say, however, the ilvl scaling at same level is a bit of a different issue and should be adjusted. That Touch of Death with no gear situation should never happen.
lol i was watching this and suddenly heard savix and i’m like “wait what” and i check the video and it’s from anboni! good video.
i don’t think they’re ever going to get scaling right. i’d say remove it but i think at this point they’ve invested too far into it, i don’t think removing it is even feasible. i think we’re just stuck with it now.
