Well, I opened a ticket with Level3 with traces as they leave our network towards Blizzard. Basically got a gigantic paragraph explaining how ping/MTR not really proof of anything blah blah. He commented he was more concerned about the results of the last two hops in Blizzard network. I also shared that trace with your NOC/peering group. Lastly he pinged my IP, one of the IPs in our network I had been testing from and to Blizzards central server IP from ear1.dal and ear3.dal with no loss and good times all around.
I’m not sure what others have gotten out of them but I basically just got finger pointing saying it’s past them.
awesome. Just in time for patch.
dude, did you fix it? all of a sudden i’m at 30ms again.
Still having issues myself but thanks for the update bleezus
scratch that, not fixed. can’t even do anything in LFR. 15,000ms
No, Level 3 made no changes. It was just a “not our problem” response pointing the finger at Blizzard.
And yes…Tuesday is stuck in the back of my mind hard.
Color me shocked that it’s a blizzard issue.
Of course it’s a Blizzard issue. No one is experiencing anything like this in any other internet related action. It’s only things connected to Blizzard. I bought the 6 month subscription back in October, I’ve been having a blast. But this is completely unplayable now and it seems based on Blizzards early responses they are just finger pointing and have no clue. So come Monday I’m going to likely demand a portion of my money back. It’s not fair to charge for a service you cannot provide. As much as I hate to do that and don’t want to, they leave me no choice. Unless they can confirm the problem is on their end and they are committed to fixing it ASAP.
There’s been no response on any thread from blizzard in the last 24+ hours. I wouldn’t hold my breath.
And to Level3, I said begone. J/K Turns out, if you route around them it works. But it’s definitely not something about routing through Dallas. No not at all.
Is this a net neutrality thing? Blizzard launches a patch, requires a lot of peer to peer connections, so we suddenly get shut down…
Level 3 will not take any information or tickets from a non customer. Even if you know for a fact that it is there issue you will get the same response. If your ISP uses them as a peering partner then your ISP is a customer of theirs. Blizzard is basically only responsible for the return path to you this is all blizzard has control over. And your ISP is responsible for the path to blizzard
