Timewalking and Normal Dungeons have the same gameplay of “Overpowered character that can solo it without effort” now.
I can’t level my alts through Normal Dungeons, I can’t level my alts through Timewalking dungeons.
Except there isn’t an option, I don’t get to play the game on my alts now, and don’t say follower Dungeons, Follower Dungeons give absolute trash for XP they are not a viable leveling path.
No, I get to complain that some Blizzard Dev Lazily copypastad the code from the Meme that is Timerunning into the main game and ruined the way I leveled alts.
They did this to encourage participation in that content, as well as to encourage people to level alts rather than unsubbing and maybe never coming back.
Your friends are very atypical. More like “weirdos”. Most people are fine with an occasional carry.
The reason you see more PvE twinks in timewalking is because they changed the level requirement to queue for them and it’s much easier to create a 10-13 twink than it was to create other kinds of PvE twinks.
Do you have a source stating level 11 twinks were banned? I’d be interested to know, since I think playing an 11 in TW looks like a lot of fun. It’s not inherently against Terms of Service or Code of Conduct to play an 11 in TW.
I don’t. I know the thread here, I know the one posted in CS, but that’s the full extent of my knowledge. I’ve heard no word since.
All I know is at least from my perspective 11 twinks have been much, much less common. I think I seen one trying to sell leveling services for something wild like 75k gold?
I don’t know if accepting in-game currency crosses the line, but do know that accepting real world currency does. Though why anyone would pay that kind of gold, much less real world currency for “leveling services” is beyond me. Only fits people that have more money than sense. But, yes, I haven’t seen any 11s in the Cataclysm TW. I did see them last week for Wrath, but only a couple.
This is not a response to my complaint, I do Heroic Raiding and M+ Dungeons, but I also liked to level alts, I liked to go into a Normal Dungeon or a Timewalking Dungeon get to play my alt and gain levels, those have both been taken away from me now.
I guess once I get AOTC and get bored of screwing around with the Groupfinder for the season I just stop playing.
They took the Timerunning scaling code and applied it to Timewalking which used to scale you DOWN to the level of the content. I don’t know why you are even denying that this happened.
Telling people “Don’t play” isn’t a great path to take.
Oh yes the Warcraft Community is so full of people I wanna interact with, I am totally playing the game for the “COMMUNITY” that ya’ll have built and I totally haven’t turned chat off entirely for my alts.
(Hint I am only really here because I like Playing Unholy DK, screwing around with alts in Timewalking was just an entertaining timewaster that was fun enough to be engaging, Guess Blizzard can have less engagement hours from me.)
They changed the scaling system to use the same system as Chromie Time which remix also used, but the system pre-dates remix. Same system with different settings in different content.
MoP remix had independent hotfixes to change its scaling during the event because the scaling was so bad as you approached max level and especially when you hit max level before upgrading any gear.
TWW 70-79 dungeons also had scaling hotfixes just for that level range towards the beginning of TWW because of how powerful low 70s were.
Timewalking dungeons now use the same scaling system as Chromie Time and will now scale enemies to your current level as opposed to scaling you to the level of the dungeon.

As usual on the forums, something may happen to a small number of people and on the forums it gets exploded into “it happened to everyone”.
I twink, my wife twinks, my friends twink… nobody i personally know got banned… yes, there were definitely people who got banned, but it was hardly a “Blizz is banning all twinks” thing. Nobody knows for sure exactly what Blizzard was up to, but most posts from folks that did get banned are all saying they got their accounts restored.
We’re all still twinking, i say if you want to twink, go for it, its a lot of fun. The reality is people are happy to see twinks, the grumpy meanies who want to ruin everyone’s fun is on the forums, but that’s not the average person out there!
