Level 11 Evoker, Made in MoP Remix, Unable to select Talent Spec

I made 2 Evokers during Remix.

One of them I logged into immediately after Remix ended and have played on and off for awhile. It was level 11 and had zero issues with talents. It had full access, knew all the appropriate spells, and could change between them with no issue.

I logged into the 2nd Evoker (Shalzi - Wyrmrest Accord) a few days ago. It was level 10. It was automatically set to Devastation, but the associated spells (Deep Breath and Disintegrate) were not learned. I cannot use those spells, even with /cast. I also cannot change to another spec. The button to do so just does not work. No error, just nothing. I leveled it to 11 to see if anything would trigger. Nothing did.

I have uninstalled Curseforge & WoWUp, deleted my WTF, Cache, and Interface folder, reloaded, relogged, and restarted the game and my computer. No addons are currently running. I still cannot change specs or use the missing spells from Dev spec.

Is there anything I can do to fix this character? It needs those core spec spells to function. I can choose talents within the Devastation Spec it has selected, but nothing I do is triggering the missing spells to become known.

I highly suspect there was an issue with the transfer from Remix to the regular Retail game. I haven’t been to the Evoker starting zone due to Remix not having it. I don’t know why it wouldn’t be an issue on my other Evoker but is on this one, but it feels like some Quest / Unlock Flag has not triggered properly. Like the game thinks I shouldn’t have access to Talents yet.

How can I get this fixed so this character becomes usable?

I have already submitted an in-game bug report, but this seems like something that might be possible for a GM to fix, if the issue ends up being quest flags? Waiting on a bug report to potentially lead to a fix for the issue 2 years down the line isn’t exactly a good outcome.

Report it as a bug.

The CS forum is a contact point with GMs, and if something isn’t working work, the bug report is the place. I’m not sure what can be done here as this forum isn’t for how to get a toon fix, more an information desk on how to fix account, be pointed at the right place or ask questions to help understand something.

FTFY :slightly_smiling_face:

I don’t have a solution, but wanted you to know that I know of one other person at least who encountered this problem. She levelled to about 30 and never found a solution, only had access to like three abilities. I’m unsure whatever happened after that point.

It must be a pretty rare bug with a specific set of “requirements”. Hopefully it’s something your bug report can provide needed info on and get fixed before too long!

Out of curiosity, do you know if it was also a Timerunning / Remix character?

I am unsure. She mentioned that she had no trouble with new evokers during remix, but I am unsure if the affected character was created during the event.

Edit: I asked, I’ll update if I find anything else out.

As far as I can see, Ventorath, you have the quests completed that grant those abilities. I’m not sure why you wouldn’t have them. It isn’t something a Game Master can assist with, they don’t have the ability to grant you a spell/ability in this situation.

You can wait until a fix can be found and implemented but Evokers start at level 10 in their starting zone. Remaking the character might be the best option.

It was a time running character and she never got it fixed. Ended up deleting it.

I’d suggest you maybe make a post over in the Bug Forum (or move this one over) and hopefully others affected can chime in as well.

Unfortunately I want to twink this thing, and since Remix is over I won’t be able to get one at this level until presumably the next one. That’s why I’m trying to get this character fixed instead of starting over.

Thanks for the replies, Vrak and everyone else.

Bug Report was submitted before I made this post so hopefully something comes of that eventually.
