sanity is basically the only mechanic of that fight.
I can imagine people running around with +200 corruption gear from world quests and not knowing why they are dying.
Oh they totally care, just a few weeks ago they made a hotfix that allowed you to get loot even if you didn’t tag the boss. They were thinking of all those people who would be instantly mind controlled by joining lfr without a cloak.
Wow. I haven’t seen somebody play the victim that hard in a while.
Its… LFR… its where people LEARN to do the raids. Shouldn’t you like. You know. Be one hitting m+ or something? Why does lfr factor in your existential instance?
I love it. They literally warned everyone with an article on the launcher to get their cloaks and people were still like, “nah…”
Exactly this. People like to come to the forums and waggle their achievements so they seem more common than they really are. People who raid Mythic content are the extremely narrow high end of the bell curve. Most players will never even get AOTC.
That does seem like an odd design choice. I went in there earlier to check it out, zoned in to three stacks of determination. What a sh$tshow that fight is. I left after one wipe, only because I really didn’t have time.
Blizzard lost interest in this game many years ago, Legion was the only good expac sense cata if that says anything.
what is LFR purpose?
if it’s just meant to be a way to see the fight / lore… just youtube it. you even get to see the mythic version with the race to world first being streamed now.
if LFR is meant to be an introduction to raiding, then expecting people to follow 1 or 2 mechanic for the end boss of the end tier is reasonable.
It’s very much a PEBCAK issue… g’huun was the best example of this; you’d have pug attacking P1 g’huun for 10 minute… never wondering why his HP doesn’t drop below 100%… never bothering to even think there could be something to be done other than auto-attacking a target dummy…
What would REALLY be awesome is if people who go into LFR without the cloak are unable to get loot/rewards.
I’m not joking. I’m a proud LFR hero myself but knowing you need the cloak to be N’zoth and not having it should have serious repercussions.
I wanna say I’m surprised they let people queue for it without the cloak, but I can’t.
Blizzard thinks everyone is going to get the cloak.
The desperate threads about the cloak proved that’s what they wanted, and that it didn’t happen.
LFR is just the latest casualty of the hubris of the developers.
“Hey I don’t pay 15 dollars a month to follow “mechanics”. If I want to hit the boss, I’m gonna hit the boss.”
-All of the people that resulted in lfr nazgrim to get nerfed.
The only AOTC I have actually earned in the last 4 years was Uldir. Rest of them have been gold carries for the sweet mount.
Speaking of which, anyone selling gold carries cheap yet?
#LFRLivesMatter
Probably won’t see cheap carries until the end of the expac, or unless someone gets a Friendship Dragon AOTC carry club going, like Friendship Moose or Friendship Birb.
The should just make the cloak a requirement to enter the fight and then stop people from unequpping it
yeah people who go in without a cloak are idiots, but they shouldn’t punish the regular lfrs who did the bare minimum and want to finish the fight
You can get it for 200-300k rn on my server
Holy moly, I need to earn more gold
Found the problem.
Apparently they knew this and still included the mechanic. With the whole “gO gEt uR cLoKeS gAiZ!!” advertisements. It didn’t work. People, especially casuals, play this game to do what they want. They’ve been running lfr and doing BGs for years and all of the sudden they’re being told they can’t because they won’t take part in content they don’t enjoy. A certain item has never been required for a fight in casual content. The MoP cloak, legion legendaries, none of it.
I’m glad this is happening.
