Yeah, I do enjoy seeing people out in the world.
And if you give people the ability to sit in their garrions / homes to do their business and everyone else that wants to go out and do that, does that still, does that really effect you then?
If you wanna see more poeple on a server and be more social, honestly just go to a RP server at that point. You will get loads of social interactions.
But trying to use that as an excuse for not wanting or against player housing is a pretty weak one. Considering as well, Blizzard ALSO has giving us a AH mount which means people who really want to dont ever need to go into a city.
Nope, and I already said like 5 times I’m not against it. I just know that with how much it has been requested, blizzard would’ve already been working on it if it wasn’t incredibly difficult to do. (which is what they already said)
“Incredibly difficult to do” in tech just mean “i dont wanna work on it”
Because remember, blizzard also said it was impossible to increase the default backpack size because it was tied so deep into the base code of the game…until they changed it.
They also said cross faction guilds were impossible aswell, yet here we are with merc mode and cross faction grouping.
It’s as simple as making it so that you still have reasons to leave your house.
I know a lot of people like to fearmonger this talking point but there’s not a single game with player housing where people have suddenly turned into recluses and refuse to participate with the rest of the game. That simply hasn’t happened and nobody has actually offered an example where this happened. There isn’t any data to support that player housing resulted in a game’s downfall.
Player housing encourages social spaces. It encourages self-expression. It encourages social interaction. There really is no downside to having player housing in a game because it serves as a foundation for people to interact with one another; something that is sorely needed in WoW since every interaction in this game is based off of necessity and not because of interest.
I’m not going to compare how “difficult” something is from one part of the game to the next. I don’t know. I’m just looking at this logically, and if it has been requested this much, it probably has been considered (which they’ve said) and they’ve also said it would require a ton of effort.
I’m sorry if this bothers people, but the realistic part is that if it takes this much resources, they could just not think it’s worth it.
It does not bother me i think to a degree you are correct in taht they have considered it and kept looking it over.
However, i think its going to be come now the reason being is, with wow being kicked outta china, Blizzard lost the china market, so they need to pander to the western market, which i think the housing system is how they are going to do it. So i think now we are reaching the point of, the time it would take, would be worth it.
Side note : I don’t think it’s some crazy thing that FF has a feature that WoW doesn’t. WoW doesn’t need everything that FF has, and vice versa. If people want to go down that line of thinking. It’s just a completely different game. Different playerbase, that cares about different things.
i mean i agree, but with player housing being a major feature in many of the most popular RPGs currently and in the past, its reasonable for wow to follow suit with that.
they are pretty bad with constantly under/ over estimating what the players will like/want.
take start of xpac for example. people were mass farming the reps with drops going to repeatable quests… it was a repeatable quest so they knew and essentially expected people to grind mobs.
and then nerfed the mob spawn rate cuz, whoops, didn’t think people would grind that hard.
And the “would be hard thing” is almost for sure an excuse. if they had been working on it for last 4-6 years, there would be something tangible.
many other mmos have a form of housing. not just FF.
this is just not true in the way you’re trying to make it.
housing is a vanity thing. and so is transmog and mounts and toys, which tons of people in the game take very seriously.
I’m just telling you they probably don’t think it’s worth it. Take it how you want. Or they would have done it already. There’s been posts for years about it on here, and everywhere else. And guess what we STILL dont have?
yeah buddy, thats what i just said too.
You may be right or you may be wrong.
IMHO, Any interesting and voluntary activity added to a game increases the likelihood of a person becoming or continuing to be a paying customer. Note it is very important that it is both or push back will destroy it.
If player housing draws in or holds people’s attention and they subscribe, then, well, paying customer’s mean that new story, raid, M+, PVP content will continue to be produced. That is a good thing.
well if you hate the thought of having to climb a tree (player housing) for that big juicy apple (mount / pet / toy / cosemetic) which is at the top of tree. then you are forced to climb the tree.
i doubt it will happen regardless. people cant even manage to do the bit of content that wow has to offer now let alone collecting a rug and curtains. that would get old quick.
I don’t care if they are lying about how much work it would take. It doesn’t matter. We don’t have it, they’ve said multiple times it would take too much time. And it’s just been a discussed topic on the forums for years. I don’t know what else you people want, but that’s on yall to figure out.
that same logic can be used for M+, glad, and Mythic raiding mounts. Why is it fine for those but bad for housing?
Oh, i totally get what you are saying. you’re dumb though because it was the opposite meaning.
“housing could be tied with profs” means profs could make and sell beds to people…
NOT
I must make a house to get a new mount.
Community: “Blizzard be more transparent”
Blizzard: “Housing would take a lot of overhauling and resources”
Community: “That’s not the answer I wanted”
No, more like
“Ok that sucks but devote the time and energy to it any way.”
i hope you realize that in your little example here… blizz didn’t give a yes or no.
So yeah, its not very transparent.
