Lets talk about... Maintenance 18 hours after extended maintenance

There shouldn’t be this many bugs, and the recent frequency of maintenance down time is ridiculous. It’s almost like having a PTR is cool and all, but the player base shouldn’t be the people finding every single bug for a product, a third-party bug tester should be being employed as well to test the bugs and code to complete an actual finished product.

The conversion to warbands and combining all character and achievement data was a massive undertaking. Nothing else TWW brought really comes close in terms of technical challenge, so my assumption is warbands are the leading cause of issues requiring additional maintenance or backend fixes that are otherwise invisible to players.

Maybe they’re giving us account-wide rep for the old factions this time.

Agreed. Blizzard: Hey, we are gonna push out this game and YOU Mr and Miss’ Player are gonna PAY US to test and fix our game for US

Quite often I would agree with you but the consistency of downtime lately has become irritating. There is obviously something that needs to change.

I highly see this old faction rep being warbound, joining the dance studio.

I’ve worked in IT, and I know sometimes things break at the drop of a hat. At the same time though, you generally had redundancies in place to minimize down time for customers.

I know the game is old. I don’t know enough about server-end anything to really say much one way or another in that regard. But I just struggle to imagine how you can have so much downtime when you have so much money at your disposal for a guaranteed cash cow.

Where’s the test environments? Where’s all of the QA? Where is money being allocated? Why does it feel like there aren’t near enough hands on deck for a massive 20 year old game?

I have thought about it.

If they planned to do it, it is, by definition, scheluled. It’s been on B. Net for plenty of time before maintenance started, so it was scheduled.

This is me. This is my time to WOW and its being taken away due to what I see as incompetence.

This expansions name is the maintenance within.

in response to multiple “scheduled maintenance” Blizzard has decided to give everyone a mount, that of course only works during “Scheduled maintenance”

Its because the competency crisis is real, and its really bad in tech, and this is what you are going to expect to get worse and worse.

Blizzard canned their QA team before The wait within, and this is the results of that.

The wait within in a hot buggy mess of an exp like none i have ever seen blizzard put out. They should honestly be ashamed of the state of this exp, its a complete joke compared to their typical standards.

when will this donwtime finished?

I find it interesting that even with multiple maintenance days per week (…apparently “the new normal” now?) various bugs from prepatch (circa July 2024) are STILL live

It kinda makes you wonder “what are they even doing during these so-called maintenance windows??”
:rofl::rofl::rofl:

It’s like, some of these maintenance windows go 4-6 hours, yet the bugs from prepatch persist…

Just the people in these types of threads all “This was scheduled 10 minutes beforehand. You had plenty of time to acknowledge there would be downtime so don’t complain when they put the warning up 10 minutes ago.”
