People throw together groups, don’t lead, with a leader that doesn’t understand the fight, the boss doesn’t die.
I have 2 hours 17 min and 30 sec of actual fight time experience on this boss with 72 pulls in. I have some basic knowledge about P1 so I’m guessing I need another 75 to 100 pulls to gain full knowledge of P1. This is positive since that will give the players more time to train and gain more experience vs this boss and gives me more time to understand the fight fully.
P2 I’m thinking 20 to 50 more pulls and for P3 I’m thinking 30 to 75 more pulls. Over all I’m looking at 300 pulls for this boss +/- 50 pulls. I’m gonna need more coffee.
You should know the phase quite literally inside out after maybe 10.
And yes as a 614 fury warrior you should be legitimately soloing 2/3 of the web sets.
You say that because you are a mythic raider not a heroic raider. For you this is easy, I mean you can clear this boss on heroic with ilvl 595 with one eye closed. That is how easy this is for you. However, for me and for most of the raiding community this boss is hardcore.
You’re right I don’t speak for pug community, but take 30 min out of your time and use cheat codes if you have that to give yourself ilvl 625 gear then join few pug H queen games. You’ll find out that almost all groups are stuck in P1 and wipe in about 3 min on average. If that is not telling I don’t know what is.
Whether executing it is difficult or not you should still understand your role within it in the first phase in under 70 pulls.
Step 1: Yolo pull boss.
Step 2: Look up dungeon journal for what killed you (or other people.)
Step 3: Develop strategy.
Could also do:
Step 1: Steal someone’s strat.
Step 2: Pull boss
Step 3: Look up what killed you or others.
Step 4: Make changes.
Then you should probably not be raid leading it. I personally wouldn’t either. But it’s easier for us not because of some intrinsic skill difference. It’s preparation and studying.
Why do this to yourself? Like clearly you are not enjoying this. If you want to raid lead it, go watch some vids, look up some posts of people talking about strats. Go in with prep.
I’ll say again, why are you raid leading then? Like are you able to tell if the groups are even for toxins? Are you trying to set up CD usages? Are you making sure there is coverage for things? Telling people how to bait properly? What purpose do you serve as a raid leader other than just hitting invite in group finder?
You make it sound as if I haven’t done any preparation what so ever. Just so you know I saw a heroic queen guide that is 13 min and 53 seconds long 8 times just to get a basic understanding of all phases. So don’t tell me I’m not prepared for what’s to come. I already know that in p2 dispel and the dot will be a progression point. I already know that the shackles and picking up the essences in P3 will be another progression point, and I haven’t even made it that far yet but I already know because I am fully prepared.
When I form the raid, I always set the odds and evens team pop the blobs orders. I even let dps know that I can get most roots (you call them webs) for roots 1 and 3 and can help for roots 2 a little bit, and see who can help get players out of roots. I had to change spec a little to partial aoe spec for this fight in particular.
I am getting better and better at p1 and know what’s about to happen before it happens which is good. I started to see p2 now but players still die in p1 which can’t happen. I didn’t enjoy the first 70 pulls of this boss, but I’m starting to see a sliver of hope that in the coming weeks (3 to 8 weeks) with the buff and as players learn this fight (which is a massive learning curve) I can down this boss.
But yeah, I don’t just post “H queen” group and just grab whatever like you are trying to make it sound like. I plan for things and raid combo and who to get. I don’t do random. There is a plan for everything. The groups keep failing because sorry to say it “the learning curve” for this boss is worse than some mythic bosses I encountered. For example, Mythic “Kazzara” I was able to get her down to 22% in about 42 pulls if I recall which was 2 weeks. Had I kept going for 1 more week I would have gotten a win but it wasn’t worth my time and I stopped. Aberrus was current then BTW.
Today I saw a player who was 7/8 H and 3/8 M. This is the truth. You see something wrong in this picture? It’s one person which doesn’t mean much, but soon there will be others. I do see 7/8 H and 1/8 M not that common but they are there. Just like past raid I can think of.
Instead of pugging randoms, have you thought about leading a guild?
Guilds is out of the questions. I think it’s time you really know why. I don’t like the culture in wow where I join a guild and answer personal questions to random players I just met online. I did that when I first joined wow long time ago when I first joined wow and at first it was great, but once some saw that I was doing mythic raids and have good gear, issues started popping up and all our friendship meant nothing and the guild broke a part.
I have many friends in other games I play with where the conversation is about the game not personal questions. No one asks personal questions. All questions are about the game and helping each other. I would love to join a guild where players keep the conversation about the game. I’m not saying that wow culture is wrong, I’m saying it’s just not for me so I just don’t bother being part of a guild.
So yeah, me joining a guild where I’m asked personal questions is out of the loop. I am perfectly fine where I’m at.
I will say there are a lot of guilds that do not go deep into the personal details of their players OR their community’s respect when one does not wish to disclose personal information/IRL information. 100% a reasonable thing to put into an app “For personal reasons I do not feel comfortable disclosing IRL information” and if a guild/player has an issue with that then give them the bird. If you’re here to game, you’re here to game.
There are also a number of discords that set up “pugs” that can be a more beneficial alternative than just groupfinder. The benefit is that they groups can have WA/addons posted to have everyone on the same page and having people on voice. People in that environment are also much more likely to voice up if they don’t understand something and not act like sociopaths when, godforbid, somebody is getting the hang of a mechanic. WoW Made Easy is one of them.
Honestly I’m not worried about joining a guild and I’m not the type of guy who like to join discord as it will take away from focusing on playing the game . I just enjoy doing my thing in the game and have a great time. If I’m not having fun then I go try something else that’s how I look at it. It’s just a game bottom line nothing more.
Honestly a pretty healthy outlook to have with this game.
I laughed so hard coming across this thread, because I pugged queen on my Main with this guy (Savagealex) twice and each time he was doing 400k dps (less than the tanks on most pulls). People were leaving his groups because there was not even an attempt to lead the raid, he just wanted a carry with abysmal DPS. I am by no means a giant pumper, I am an old man who doest mechanics correctly and pulls good DPS. He was blaming the wrong people for mistakes, and kicking people for saying things like “Why are we bringing bombs into the raid”. The reason you don’t have AOTC is because you don’t know how to play your class, and people don’t want to stick around to carry you lol
Also I still have the logs to show that I’m not just trolling lmao
First of all I never remove players. Typically if the group is bad I thank the raid then leave. Second I never said anything remotely close to “bringing bombs to raid”. I’ll admit that my dps was around 400k back then now it’s around 550k - 750k now that I learned P1.
How convenient you have my logs. You are excellent at stretching the truth and that is me saying it nicely. If I wanted a carry I can go ahead and make a H queen game and force all players to be aotc or better, but I don’t do that like many others do. I earn my aotc even if it takes weeks. That is the fun part. Don’t make up stuff about me pal. I wish you the best.
Well I never said you said that, I said you kicked a player FOR saying it which definitely did happen. A player ran a bomb into the group after popping and wiped the raid, and you kicked someone who sarcastically said ‘So we’re running bombs into the raid now?’ Also this was last night, so your DPS must have improved a ton since then. Not only that, but I was in a raid with you the day before that where you got called out by another player for your performance and that player left, causing the entire group to follow. Again, I can link the logs. Your parses are all grey (I’m not a parse player so normally i don’t care about this, but it annoys me that people want instant gratification for killing a tough boss right away while not performing at the level required for the boss). Nothing I’m saying is stretching the truth. You literally are running raids to get carried and then posting about potentially quitting the game when you don’t get your way.
