Let's not forget right-click report

whatever

I think your first day of classic will be “educational”

Mobs are terrible at adhering to rules. They’ll report whatever suits their own personal prejudices, regardless of Blizzard’s CoC. The true test will be ganking and camping, and players using the tool available to “punish” the pvp’ers.

LMAO honestly ganking defenseless lowbies is going to be so much fun

A very scary thing…

Blizzard just fired 100 support staff, then 700 additional staff, with an indeterminate, but probably significant percentage also being support staff. This was done months before the release of a full scale MMO. Don’t bet on proper GM coverage.

Okay, but 19 twinks killing Stranglethorn questers is going to be just as much fun

Hogger kept reporting me for harassment, but it kept getting overturned. He never learned. :man_shrugging:

I want to have dreams of a white Christmas. And a good WoW. :frowning:

It is a fair comparison though. The GMs are and always have been the policy enforcement force for every MMO I’ve played. They are tasked with policing player behavior as needed and punishing those who violate the laws of the game.

Just because GMs have a job perceived to be less dangerous doesn’t mean it’s any less potentially stressful for them. I’ve dealt with some pretty nasty players just as another player in the game. I’ve even had someone stalk and harass me in game and had to get a GM involved. I don’t see this as being at all different than calling the police for being stalked and harassed in real life.

You don’t see how stalking someone on a video game vs. stalking someone in real life are different?

They are pushing a narrative, misguided though…

LMAO telling me I dont get out much, whilst agreeing with someone who equates being harassed in a video game to “calling the police for being stalked and harassed in real life”

Dont even bother with them- they’re looking to draw a hasty generalization fallacy on a game. We’ll keep the topic relevant, and they can do whatever it is they want- let them post.

No worries, I am not saying that harassment in the game is a good thing at all… I just dont understand how that can be equated to real life in any way. I dont understand how you can stalk someone in a video game, just put them on /ignore.

It’s been done, and it always bleeds over to the real world. Or Blizzard wouldn’t have put in an harassment policy. Stalking in game is quite real and I wouldn’t so quick to discount it.

They’re off topic. I wouldn’t worry about them.

How can it bleed over into the real world? Harassment could literally be as simple as cussing at someone. I fail to see how stalking is a big issue in this game.

Dude do you realize how paranoid you look? The other people’s arguments into favor of the right click report feature at least make some sort of sense. If your this scared of people why would you ever play an mmo? I can’t fathom being scared that somebody liked the look of your tauren in those new pants you looted and now they are gonna show up at your house for real? Lol

Stalking in video games is actually a very common thing and in some case can bleed over to real life. Anyone with a shred of above average computer knowledge and skill can easily find a basic assessment of a person and even as close to what city they are from, and you can go deeper and find out contact information and so much more.

Ignore on games like this is char based meaning if you put this char on ignore I can log on another and be able to find out where you are in game and continue my stalking and harassment. The things with these games is unless your gonna do a voice discord check you never know who is on the other end of the screen, and we all like to keep our guard up but its human nature when you do something or even within a game bind with someone the small details out.

Now that is just me explaining to you that it can and is actually something common. However its more common for someone to just be annoying and harass a person just because they want to be a jerk and ruin your day for a few hours. Bleeding into the real world is actually a rare general inside game harassment is more common then bleeding into real world, those are extreme cases, but have happen one the less.
